Drivers must renew permanent licenses

The permanent driver’s license program, implemented under the administration of Jaime Bonilla Valdez, will now require renewal to remain valid.

This comes after Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s initiative, approved by the State Congress, which eliminates the concept of permanent licenses.

The reform amends the Vehicle Control Law, introducing a renewal process that aligns with other vehicle-related procedures, such as license plates, decals, and registration cards.
