OUT OF THE SHADOWS

I feel like I'm coming out of the shadows
I'm finally allowed to be myself
Everything that held me back
Has slowly faded into the darkness

My mind finally feels free
All the voices that used to echo here inside
Have now been blown away with the wind
Letting me see the sanctuary beyond these walls

My path now seems so clear
What used to be a grey area in my mind
Now has a light shone upon it
Allowing me to walk freely here within

I can now see a future with me in it
All these years I felt like the odd piece
The part that's normally just thrown away
But now I know I'm the ending of the jigsaw

I'm the force that drives life forward
I'm not just an empty shell
Here inside I have a powerful soul
One that never will be broken

I've realised my hidden strength
I've let go of the past that held me in chains
Leaving me open to a world of possibilities
So I'll keep walking upon that road
