There is possibility that the eye disease of conjunctivitis will continue to spread to different parts of the country because many people in the country do not know how to prevent this disease. This is according to a vox pop interviews conducted by GBS television.

Speaking to a citizen of Lilongwe, Annes Juwawo said that she does not know much about the disease but she would like the Ministry of Health to educate people about ways to prevent the disease.

Speaking to another Lilongwe resident Ken Master, he said that he heard about the disease and it has heavily affected Karonga district and he does not know the exact details of the disease.

So far, eight people have lost their sight because of using urine and local beer- Kachasu as a cure for this disease.

The case of conjunctivitis was first detected in the country in January in Karonga district.

President Chakwera signs the authorization of Opec fund road loan.

In the exercise of the powers conferred upon president Chakwera by section 89 of the constitution of malawi, the president has signed 4 bills including the One-stop boarder control bill, malawi school of government bill, gaming and lotteries bill.

Chakwera has also signed an authorization for Opec Fund for international Development (SADC sub region transport and trade facilitation project). A loan that will benefit roads or Benga-Nkhotakota and Dwanga road.

National TB, Leprosy to manage medical workers as 44BN project is revealed.

Environmental and social safeguard specialist Yamikani Muronya has stated that his office takes complaints arrising in hospital facilities with the seriousness it deserves. Muronya, a social safeguard, gave an example of a bad habit that medical workers used to close facilities by lunch hours instead of the normal 16:30hrs.

"We get generic complaints such as early knock off of healthy workers a thing we have resolved with the seriousness it deserves, as well as other received complaints. Said Muronya.

The national Tuberculosis and Leprosy office also revealed that the Southern Tuberculosis and health systems support project that is on going in 9 districts, is being funded by the world bank with amount total to $44 million (44 billion kwacha) of which $7 million (K7bn) has already been used.

we are the solution, Chakwera must resign-APM

Former president Arthur Peter Muntharika has called for president Chakwera to resign per his own word that he( Chakwera) would resign if he does not deriver within 2 years of his rulling. According to APM, Chakwera has failed in all aspects including issues of govervanance, economy, corruption, etc.

"The only solution we can offer to the current crisis this country is facing right now is that Chakwera must step down, a caretaker government should come in and call for elections within 90days", say APM who is president of Democratic Progressive Party.

We tried to get the response from goverment though its chief spokesperson hon Gospel Kazako but his number could not be reached. President Lazarus Chakwera is currently at USA where he is attending the United General Assembly.
