VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
ShareWORLD University is a registered and accredited University by the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) and is set to launch ShareWORLD Radio at its Lilongwe main campus. The University is, therefore inviting well-qualified and suitable individuals to take up the following positions:
1. Head of Current Affairs
The Head of Current Affairs will lead the production of high-quality current affairs content. This position, based in Lilongwe, reports to the Station Manager and offers a one-year contract, with the possibility of renewal.
Key Responsibilities:
โข Develop and implement current affairs programme strategy.
โข Lead current affairs programme development, ensuring journalistic ethics and standards.
โข Manage a team of producers and reporters.
โข Conduct research and secure interviews with experts and news sources.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
โข A Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media or related field.
โข At least three years in current affairs broadcasting.
โข Strong leadership, communication and journalistic skills.
2. Head of Programmes
The Head of Programmes will lead our programming team to create high-quality, engaging content that aligns with our mission of inclusivity and open dialogue. This position, based in Lilongwe, reports to the Station Manager and offers a one-year contract, with the possibility of renewal.
Key Responsibilities:
โข Develop and implement programming strategies
โข Oversee content development and scheduling
โข Manage and mentor programme staff
โข Ensure quality control and audience engagement
โข Foster partnerships and manage the programming budget
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
โข A minimum of three yearsโ experience in radio programming or management
โข Strong leadership, journalistic and communication skills
โข A Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media or related field.
3. Radio Volunteers
ShareWORLD Radio is seeking passionate young volunteers for various roles, including DJs, Presenters, Reporters, and Producers. Volunteers will help inform, educate, and entertain our audience by preparing and presenting engaging content, operating studio equipment, and collaborating with the team.
Requirements:
The ideal candidates must have:
โข Basic computer skills and a desire to learn
โข A genuine passion for radio broadcasting and audio production.
โข Ability to prepare engaging content, operate studio equipment, and collaborate effectively with a team.
โข A positive, can-do mindset and flexibility in roles
โข They must possess at least a diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media or related field from a reputable institution.
