The geometries of power on a global capitalism terrene are drawn by the application of certain skills. These skills, according to the position I take in my upcoming book, are cognitive, emotive and creative in nature. With a peculiar history of colonialism in Africa, the goal in our schooling should be to sculpture our collective abilities to think on behalf of ourselves, stand on our own feet and create our own opportunities in order to be counted. We need a national patriotism and a wave of pan-Africanism that not only verge on sentimentalism and nostalgia, but rather those that are deliberate and strategic in their approaches to the application of thought, values and marketable creativity for economic competitiveness and progress.

Schooling is at the heart of development strategies globally but it doesn’t guarantee a promised land of economic headway. For Malawi, traditional schooling is, by far, the most understated mere smugness that has ached economic progress in the country for decades. I am saying this without taking a tongue-in-cheek look at all.

How many minds has the Malawi education system produced prior and after independence? Now, compare that to the prospects and realities of an economically progressive nation, directly wedged by the education system! You feel the gist, right?

Interestingly, the failure of traditional schooling to deliver on its assurances is not just a Malawi problem. It’s a spitting global irony! As a country, we must embark on a radical, innovative pathway around the inadequacies of our education system, especially in regard to the quantity and quality of cognitive skills the system instills into our schooling population.

I am feeling something strongly in my heart and thought I should share with you.

My team and I have been working on my new and upcoming book, Skills Economy, for over 6 months now, and that's excluding the time I spent coming up with the first manuscript.

The process has been long and painful for me. Frankly, I almost gave up at a certain point. But something wouldn't just allow me to quit.

Was it because I think the book will make me a lot of money? Obviously, I need the money.

Zig Ziglar used to say, "Money is not the most important thing in life, but it's reasonably close to oxygen." So making money out of my book won't be a bad thing at all.

But, as close to oxygen as money is, it's not my motivation for writing this book. Through the writing process, I have realized something more important than money...and that's what I want to share with you.

There are people who have told their stories in a book before. Those books have changed my life. And I am grateful.

But... I ask myself, "What if they didn't take their time to write the books?"

Think about it.

Even in the case of the Bible, can you imagine if Apostle Paul didn't write all those epistles in the New Testament?

What if the history books we read weren't written and published?

That's why Dr. Myles Munroe wrote in one of his books, "The richest place in the world is not a gold mine, but the graveyard."

Why?

Because the graveyard is where unwritten and unpublished ideas and stories that would have changed the world are buried forever.

Here is my point: There are ideas and stories in you that could change someone's life if you published them.

Now is the time to tell your stories and share your ideas to transform lives and change the world for God's glory!

I know this isn't as simple as it sounds. In fact, to be frank with you, it's not easy to organise your ideas into a high quality publishable book.

I am a perfectionist, but this doesn't look nice when your editor is also seemingly playing the "perfectionist."😃

Untill now, my book, , is at the editors, and I am becoming impatient already because, by God's grace, I can't wait to have it published.
