Meet Rachel Kumwenda Kaunda, a drone pilot and Earth Scientist. The founder and CEO of Drone Link from Lilongwe.
Drone Link is a technology business that uses drones to map areas relevant to water and sanitation, agriculture, mining, construction, land surveying, disaster management, among other fields. Their goal is to use technology to address a range of societal concerns.
Drone Link provides aerial photography, mapping surveys, event drone marketing videos, and drone aerial photography. In addition to 3D modeling, they also provide space education.
Prior to this year, Drone Link had the opportunity to speak with Malawi's Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Youth and Sports on how drone technology is transforming many industries in this country.

“The man who donated 6000 trees”
Meet Chembe Kachala, an accountant by profession but he has a passion for Horticulture and Silviculture. He is the man behind Link Nurseries located at Dowa turn off.
Link Nurseries produce and sell fruit tree seedlings and indigenous tree seedlings as well. The nursery has Grafted Hass Avocado, Grafted Mangoes, Hybrid Pawpaws, Grafted Tangerines, Grafted Oranges, Hybrid Guava, Grafted lemons and Coultured Banana Suckers. And all kinds of indigenous tree seedings including Mthethe, Mtangatanga, Msambafumu, M'bawa, Pine etc.
Earlier this year Link Nurseries donated 6000 trees worth MK 1,000,000.00 to Creative Solution for the Environment, an organization that helps rural communities to fight against deforestation. In the current year he has already pledged to donate 500 fruit tree seedlings to another not for profit organisation based in Zomba which has a Green Project that is centered on educating the community about the value of planting trees to help reduce the effects of global warming and malnutrition.
