President Lazarus Chakwera has fired Minister of Labour, Ken Kandodo for being implicated in the K6. 2 billion Audit Report, with immediate effect.

President Chakwera says although Minister of Labour returned the money he mismanaged, he can not be trusted to be in his cabinet, hence firing him.

Chakwera says his decision for Dcs to be interdicted is justified because he did not want investigations to be tampered with.
He says from the audit, his office has made 7 critical key points.
1. 493 million kwacha expenditure did not follow procurement procedures
2. 80 million kwacha on allowances was irregular including allowance of ministers
3. 83 million kwacha wasn’t accounted including 12 million kwacha which has vanished.
4. 39 million kwacha worth of fuel vanished
5. 23.6 million kwacha was spent wastefully
6. 1 billion to clusters was left idle and unused
7. Local authorities were given funding without basis.

Police say arrests in connection to the K6. 2 billion Audit Report are now imminent.

According to statement released by MPS National Spokesperson, James Kadadzera it says police detectives are on the ground affecting the arrests.

Kadadzera said so far, over 14 officers have been arrested.
