Hi there all,

This is a short example blog post I wrote regarding the impact of the 2012 London Olympics:

"The 2012 London Olympics were a spectacle to behold with a long-lasting legacy that can still be felt throughout the years.
Of course, tourism increased drastically during that period which led to an increase in GDP that is still capitalised on to this day.

Namely, there was a drastic spike in the participation of sports up until roughly 2016 where percentages started dropping by around 0.4 percent annually. Regardless, the interest in sports has remained higher on average than pre-2012.

There were many initiatives for volunteers set up by local councils to assist with the preparations for the Olympic games along with economic subsidies provided by the government which immensely helped struggling local businesses by providing the necessary capital for survival and growth, as well as the Olympics providing a massive influx of tourists that not only proved to be a ripe customer base for souvenir shops especially but also proved to be a significant booster in creating an economic surplus for the Balance of payments.

The successful promotion of British businesses in 2012 also meant that 60 Billion Pounds worth of foreign contracts were closed, namely with Brazil for the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympic games years later."
