When we started Shadeena Rentals six years ago, the Maltese A/V industry was very different, and renting audio-visual equipment was a time consuming and cumbersome process. Over the past 6 years, the industry has grown, not only in the number of active filmmakers and production houses, but also services, such as rental companies. We’ve grown too!

The rental arm of Shadeena Entertainment has served us and many production houses over the years. It allowed us to invest in our productions and also sponsor dozens of student projects, short films, and music videos along the years. Now, as we embark on some of our most ambitious projects yet, our focus is shifting to
developing new material and bringing it to small and large screens.

We plan to maintain the mentoring role that loaning out equipment pro bono has allowed us to take on but we will focus our contributions to the industry on consultation and development.

With all this in mind, we are closing down our rental business and announcing a fire sale! Yes, you read that right, everything must go. The prices below are open to negotiation, so if there’s anything you fancy and want to name your price, please go ahead.
We wish all our clients happy productions and we’re sure that mediastation.tv, maxmotion.com.mt and the other rental companies will take good care of you!

We did have an amazing team behind it - Teodor Reljić, Stephanie Sant, Irene Christ, Steffi Thake, Francesca Mercieca, Jonas Schimpf, Yasmin Kuymizakis and many others who helped shape this short film.

We are now approaching the end of our editing process and getting to that period in every film's journey when one gathers some audience feedback.

Over the coming weeks, we are organising two small private screenings for a lucky few to see the work in progress and discuss it! Due to the current pandemic, each screening will be limited to 5 audience members and the director.

So our question is, do you want to attend? The only conditions are that you are at least 18 years old and are not connected to the film either directly or indirectly.

All you have to do is share our page, like this post and comment below - and make sure you have a couple of hours to spare in the coming weeks. We'll take care of the rest. Two people will be chosen at random and contacted by our team.

*MEET OUR MEMBERS*

Filmmaker and founder of production company Shadeena, Martin Bonnici is the latest creative to join the Collective as a member.

Having trained alongside experts that include Laurence Moody, Bobette Buster and David Howard, Martin has been involved in the audio-visual industries for almost two decades. In 2010, he established his own production company, Shadeena, through which he has produced numerous audio-visual projects from adverts to corporate projects and recently, a mini-series and feature film, working with various teams for clients in Malta, Switzerland, Italy and the US.

"As a filmmaker, without my team, I cannot do my work. Collaborating with other creative individuals has always been key to my work and one of the elements that continuously draws me to filmmaking."
