Senegal's parliament is meeting today to deliberate on President Macky Sall's decision in postponement of the presidential elections. The meeting is coming after Sunday's violent street protests in the capital, Dakar. The president's announcement has plunged Senegal into a political stalemate.
Sall said he delayed the vote because of a dispute between the National Assembly and the Constitutional Court over the rejection of candidates. But oppositions described it as "constitutional coup."

Superstar Afrobeats singer David Adeleke professionally known as Davido has responded hours after his former signee Lhil Frosh shared a video denying he physically assaulted his ex-girlfriend and begs for a second chance from his former boss.
Davido, the “Unavailable” hitmaker follows Lhil Frosh on Instagram after he disclosed in the video that he didn’t beat his ex-girlfriend Gift Camille adding that he was framed as the whole domestic violence was fabricated.
Explaining what happened some years ago, Lilfrosh said he slapped Taiwo after she disrespected his mum. He claimed the photos his ex-girlfried released, insinuating that he hit her in the eye, making it to swell, was not what actually happened.
According to him, his ex-girlfriend had a boil at the back of her head and this made one of her eyes swell. He claimed she released the photos of her swollen eyes to create a false narrative that he was behind it.
In the videos and posts he released, Lilfrosh appealed to his former boss, Davido, to forgive him.

Oumou Sangaré, was born 25 February 1968 in Bamako Mali. She is a Grammar Award-winning Malian Wassoulou Musician of Fulani or Fula descent. She is often referred as "The Songbird of Wassoulou." In 2010, Sangaré's Album Séya was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best contemporary music Album.
: We're yet to learn why most of the Malian Fulani Musicians sing in Mandé languages instead of Fula. The likes of Neneh Oumou Bambado Bah, Mariama Bah Lagaré, Oumou Sangaré just to name few. This is the important of language. It can only add value to you, if you know how to communicate, talk or speak it.

HAPPENING one month after 195 persons were massacred during the last Christmas festivities in three local government areas, the fresh bloodshed in Plateau State has again highlighted the failure of the Nigerian state to protect its citizens. The latest atrocities in Mangu LGA midweek resulted in the killing of 30 individuals, torching of houses and worship centres. President Bola Tinubu’s administration must get a firm handle on the security in that state and other parts of the country.
Plateau is bleeding again. There is a fear of epidemic as reports say decomposing corpses litter the traumatised communities.
The condemnations and condolences, which have been pouring in, cannot restore the lost lives; the government must shake off its lethargy and rise to the challenge without further excuses.
Dozens of communities are deserted following the fresh round of killings, which occurred despite the declaration of a 24-hour curfew in Mangu by Governor Caleb Mutfwang on Tuesday, to arrest the deteriorating security situation in the area. The police confirmed that 10 houses were torched.

Bellinzona, Switzerland–Several Gambians allegedly arrested and tortured at the National Intelligence Agency in March 2006 have criticised the government’s conspicuous absence in the crimes against humanity trial of former interior minister Ousman Sonko in Switzerland.
Arrested in January 2017, the Swiss Attorney General’s office, along with 10 plaintiffs from Gambia, is accusing Sonko of torture, murder, false imprisonment, r**e, and deprivation of liberty, allegedly perpetrated against Gambians during the 22-year rule of ex-president Yahya Jammeh. Sonko, who denied wrongdoing, served under Jammeh as police chief for one year and interior minister for 10 years.
Although the Gambia government cooperated with Swiss authorities throughout the trial’s investigative procedure, the office of the country’s attorney general is not represented in the Swiss court. Nor was the office represented in the German crimes against humanity trial against Bai Lowe, a former driver of the Junglers, a paramilitary hitsquad operating on the orders of the Jammeh. (Lowe was sentenced to life in November 2023.) Musa Saidykhan— one of the 10 plaintiffs in the case against Sonko, testified on Monday. He is the former editor-in-chief of the now-banned newspaper The Independentand was allegedly arrested and severely tortured in 2006. In 2010, Saidykhan won a case against the Gambian government at the Nigeria-based Court of Justice of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and was awarded damages of $200,000.

Naira Marley, the CEO of Marlian Records, releases a new song amid the scandal surrounding the death of his ex-signee, Mohbad.
It should be noted that Naira Marley’s ex-signee died a few months earlier, prompting the arrest of the singer and his collaborators, who were eventually released after spending some time in detention.
In a fresh development, the controversial artist published a new song and video titled ‘Wahala’, as stated on his Instagram page.
“Wahala is out now 🔥🔥.” The majority of them were long shots. “Don’t mind them,” he captioned the photo.
While some of his followers praised the newly released song as a masterpiece, others accused Naira Marley of attempting to gain credibility by mentioning Mohbad in the song.

Nollywood actress/producer, Funke Akindele says she doesn’t consider herself a failure because she is divorced twice.
Speaking in an interview with Wazobia FM, in Lagos, Nigeria, Funke Akindele explained that her mother taught her early in life that without failure, there can’t be success.
“If you ask me now can you tell me one failure, I don’t see it as a failure. My personal life – marriage, I just take it as it comes. My mental health is very important. My career is very important, darling.
“I have to make an impact. I have to empower a lot of people. I have to inspire young people out there. I have to stay strong for my children and my siblings. Why am I living? I have a purpose, so my head is up. Yes I cry, yes I break down, but after I cry, I just look in the mirror and say, ‘keep moving,’” Funke Akindele said.

A high court in Sierra Leone has granted the country’s former president, Ernest Bai Koroma, an order to travel to Nigeria on medical grounds. It comes amid fevered speculation that the government and ECOWAS reached a deal last week to allow the 70-year-old to relocate to that country following treason charges against him. The ECOWAS Commission President, Dr Omar Alieu Touray visited the country for the second time since the November failed coup attempt. Koroma didn’t appear in court today something for which his lead lawyer, Joseph Kamara, apologised before tabling the medical report and the court order. Kamara wouldn’t say when his client would leave. Attorney General and Minister of Justice wouldn’t comment on today’s outcome. The case was adjourned to 6 March.
