Growing up, I didnāt have moments like this with my dad. Not because he didnāt care, but because he was busy surviving for us.
He worked tirelessly, the only local mechanic on the island, carrying the weight of being both mother and father after my mom passed when I was only six. Life was hard, quiet, and demanding for all of us. But he stayed. He showed up in the only way he knew how.
Now that Iām a dad, I promised my daughter something different.
I promised time. Play. Presence. Laughter.
Every moment I spend with her is not just love for my child. itās healing for the little boy in me.
Proof that your childhood can either break you⦠or make you better.
And for the recordā
I have the best dad in the world.
He raised us with strength, morals, and values.
Iām just choosing to love my child out loud.
I miss you Dad, š¤
