The main activities of CEES include research and analysis, knowledge dissemination, and capacity building. CEES is carrying out a series of policy-oriented research and analysis projects with a special focus on balancing economic development, environmental and social objectives. CEES undertakes these activities in cooperation with govern

ment agencies, civil society organizations as well as with local and international experts and development partners. CEES also helps to promote dialogue and coordination between the different stakeholders involved and hence contributes to balance conflicting needs and interests. It makes this possible by conducting consultation meetings, seminars with local and international experts/consultants, and by publishing research findings and policy papers. This includes reinforcing innovative governance initiatives for public, private and civil society organizations, increasing the understanding for viable policy options in responding promptly to emerging national developments, improving efficiency and effectiveness of people participating in policy formulation, strategic implementation, international relations, economic cooperation, regional integration, corporate social responsibility, social protection, and environmental preservation.
