ADDC Kulgam flags- off vehicles carrying families, live stock of migratory tribal population

Facility of transportation for migratory population to continue till 25th October

KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 30:

The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi today flagged- off five trucks carrying livestock and families of migratory tribal population.

These trucks were flagged- off towards their destination viz. Rajouri from truck Terminal Chawalgam and were provided transport facility from Aharbal and D.H.Pora areas.

It was informed that the facility of transportation for these migratory people shall continue till 25th of October.

District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr Mohd Rafiq informed that to facilitate a smooth and hassle free transportation to migratory families and their livestock, two registration counters have already been established, one each at DH Pora and Aharabal where these people are registering to get the facility of transportation and these registration counters have been established by District Sheep Husbandry organization Kulgam.

District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kulgam and ARTO Kulgam have been designated as nodal officers to ensure hassle free movement of the livestock and the families, he added.

*Child Abuser arrested in Budgam, Booked Under POCSO Act: Police*

Srinagar, September 29:(GNS) Police on Thrusday arrested a person for sexually abusing a minor, booked him under POSCO Act in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that On 22 September, Police Station Khag recieved a written complaint from a lady complainant stating that her minor son (name withheld) age about 04 years was sexually abused by one namely Mohammad Ashraf Lone S/O Gh. Mohammad Lone a resident of Hamchipora Khag. The victim was taken to PHC Khag and subsequently referred to SMHS hospital Srinagar for specialised treatment.

According to Police spokesman, Upon receipt of this complaint, a case FIR number 52/2022under relevant sections of law was registered at police station khag and investigation initiated.

Acting swiftly, a police party arrested the accused child abuser on the same day. The accused was produced before Juvinile Board and remained in the custody of Juvinile Home. Today the accused was produced before Medical Board to ascertain his actual age and Board established that the accused is an adult. The accused stands already arrested and booked under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act. Further investigation of the case is going on, he said.

Community members are requested to share information regarding crimes committed upon children and other social crimes to concern police station for immediate action, reads the statement.(GNS)

*Two Migrant labourers shot at in Pulwama, hospitalised*

Pulwama, Sep 24 (KNO): Two migrant labourers were shot at and injured in Kharbhatpora locality of Ratnipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday evening.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the labourers identified as Shamshad Ahmad son of Islam Sheikh and Faizan Qadri both residents of Bihar were shot at by militants in Kharbhatpora locality.

He said that soon after the incident both were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where their condition is said to be stable.

The official said that the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers—(KNO)

*Two J-K youths detained near Indo-Pak border in Rajasthan*

Jaisalmer, Sep 24: Two youths from Jammu and Kashmir were apprehended from near the India-Pakistan international border in Rajasthan's ​​Jaisalmer district, police said on Saturday.

The two were collecting donations in the prohibited area without permission, they said.

After questioning, the youths were handed over to the Joint Investigation Committee. They be interrogated by security and intelligence agencies working in the district, Station House Officer (Ramgarh) Achlaram Dhaka said.

A police outpost in Khuiyala received information that two youths were roaming in the prohibited area on Friday, following which they were detained, police said.

The duo was identified as Jameel Iqbal (23) and Maruf Hussain (25), both residents of Poonch district in Jammu and ​​Kashmir.–(PTI)
