But despite beating Martinez the ball drifted narrowly wide.

Lopez announced his retirement from boxing after defeating Taylor back in the summer.

But he eventually confirmed that he would continue as 140-pound champion and now England’s Jack Catterall, 30, is desperate to get a shot at him.

“We can do it in Manchester or New York.

“He’s the champion so I’m more than happy to come to his backyard and take that title.

BETSiE takes into account multiple data points including expected goals and assists and runs a simulation 100,000 times.

The Cityzens have more than a 30 per cent chance of winning the Champions League and are almost 50/50 when it comes to making the final.

NFL fans have been calling out the officiating crew in the Chicago Bears’ 16-13 win over the Carolina Panthers for a bizarre U-turn call.

Initially, Blakeman called a defensive pass interference on a player wearing a No. 2 jersey.

Thursday Night Football analyst Kirk Herbstreit quickly pointed out that the call would indicate a penalty on the Bears’ No. 2, wide receiver DJ Moore, 26.

And Herbstreit was right with the referee releasing an audible “Oh!” and then consulting with down judge Dana McKenzie.

Seconds later, Blakeman corrected himself and called an offensive pass interference on Moore, his second of the game.

Replays would show that the Bears star extended his arm and got in the way of Panthers cornerback Troy Hill as he headed Taylor’s way, although the contact was minimal.

But Bears fans started mercilessly booing the official for changing the call, which forced Chicago to replay the third down with 19 yards to go.

And NFL fans on social media joined in slamming Blakeman for the error.

“Worst call in NFL history,” one wrote.

“Tf we doin lol,” another added.

“Refs are drunk,” a third said.

“These refs need help… what is this?” one wrote.

The OPI call sabotaged the Bears’ drive as they punted after a no-gain on the next play.

After the Panthers got the ball back, they managed to score a field goal, reducing their deficit to 16-13.

But on their next drive, kicker Eddie Pineiro missed a 59-yard kick and the Bears prevailed, recording their third win of the 2023 season.

Still, Moore slammed the referees for the OPIs.

“They was getting on my nerves today,” he told the media.

“They called me twice for it, and then they going to have the nerve to talk to me afterwards. Don’t talk to me afterward because neither of them were pass interference, so it’s OK.”

Moore added: “Maybe we need other refs.”

During the third quarter of Virginia’s game against No. 11 ranked Louisville, Jones caught a pass out of the backfield and ran about seven yards before he was crushed by Cardinals defensive back Cam’Ron Kelly.

The hit resulted in Jones fumbling the ball, falling forward into a slew of Louisville players.

Cavaliers teammate Malik Washington scooped the 42-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown, but all attention immediately turned to the incapacitated running back.

Louisville trainers swiftly assisted Jones as players gathered around, with some even dropping to their knees to show respect.

Players from both teams knelt for about 15 minutes as Jones was unable to move but kept his eyes open.

“I’m just praying for him,” Kelly, who delivered the hit, said.

“I said my piece to him when he was on the stretcher. I’ve got nothing but love for him. I hope he has a speedy recovery.”

After the game, Virginia coach Tony Elliott gave an update to the press, sharing he was getting an MRI.

“We are getting some encouraging news, but I don’t want say anything until we get it officially,” Elliott said.

“It’s a very, very difficult reality of the sport that we play, that every play can end that way, and you don’t wish that for anybody.

“Man, I know one thing: (Perris Jones) is a tough young man and he lays it on the line every time he goes out there for this football team.

“(We’re) believing and praying that he’s going to have a full recovery. I’m putting that in the Lord’s hands and I’m asking for that in advance and believing that that’s going to be the case.”

Early on Friday morning, Virginia’s football account posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Jones had regained movement in all of his extremities.

Jones had rushed 73 times for 386 yards and two touchdowns entering Thursday’s game.

Louisville mounted a comeback against Virginia, outscoring them 17-3 in the fourth quarter to win 31-24 and improve to 9-1 on the season.

Virginia dropped to 2-8 with the loss.
