The Monthly Narwhal was created thanks to the initiative of a group of NOVA students: upperclassmen and underclassmen taking the role of writers, reporters, webmasters, artists, and advertisers in their spare time. This e-zine's roots lay with The Discourse Detectives: NOVA's previous e-zine which was launched in 2009 and dissolved with the advent of the The Monthly Narwhal. In alphabetic order:
