AFRICAN PROVERB: The house of the person we live is never far
Meaning: I happen to have a conversation with a taxi driver yesterday who was curious to know how I was able to survive a long distance relationship. I had a short answer for him and it was “the house of the person you love is never far”. After a long pause, I think he got the message I was conveying. You know, when you are truly in love with someone that person is not out there, but always in your heart. It has been said that “In human relationships, distance is not measured in miles but in affection. Two people can be right next to each other, yet miles apart”. And that’s why I believe that the shortest distance between two people is love. One can be near to someone and yet so far. And another can be far and yet so near because of the love coordinates. When you are in love your heart gives reasons but when you are not in love, you heart gives excuses. This does not mean long distance relationships are easy. The truth is they are not. Feelings fluctuate. But when your love is more than just feeling but also hope and trust, you have what to hold on to in your challenging moment. Be loving! tagafriendtoreadthis
