Why Wedding Videography?

Once upon a time, wedding videography was almost unheard of, today, a must-have for any wedding memory - reliving the day for years to come.

VMG Weddings strive in documenting your wedding day providing memories from the most special day alive, fresh for wedding clients to look back and reflect on as well as being shared with friends, family, and future generations.

Matthew Valcancick, the owner of VMG Weddings serves as the lead wedding videographer and editor. He brings his fiancee, Destiny, with him to most weddings to help with set up and bring a different creative approach to the wedding day. Their approach when filming is to remain unobtrusive, not interfering with the wedding day or the surroundings. They try to capture the natural flow of the events as they unfold throughout the day.

The top five reasons for moving forward with wedding videography: 1. Capturing movement and sound: although photos are great, and capture all the most important aspects of a wedding day, wedding videos capture both movement and sound. You will be able to hear the gasp during a first look or the first view walking down the aisle, watch the first kiss as newlyweds, your first dance, speeches given, dancing, and all the events of the day as they unfolded. 2. Emotions: It is important that the videographer that is chosen, doesn’t only capture the day as raw footage but they have editing skills that can create an emotional movie to help with the storytelling of the wedding day from start to finish. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry - a wedding video will be the closest thing to reliving your wedding day. 3. Surprises: Unfortunately, your wedding day will go by very quickly, and you won’t be able to take everything in. Videographers capture all the moments that you aren’t able to experience - watching the flower girl walk down the aisle, guests tearing up during vows, everyone enjoying cocktail hour, and dancing. This allows you to experience your wedding on a different level than the day-of and allows you to watch all events as they unfolded unobstructed. 4. Sharable: Videos are typically distributed to clients via online platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo (VMG Weddings prefers Vimeo). This allows easy sharing of wedding videos with friends and family. Videos typically have three different forms of editing - full day (about an hour of all events captured and edited into an easily viewable video), highlight (about 3-6 minutes of including all main events and typically set to music with vows overlayed), and a teaser (59 seconds in length, set to music and putting all events into a easily sharable short video for social media). Because of the easily-sharable capability of the videos, you can help those family members and friends who were unable to attend feel like they were actually at the wedding and experience it just as you did. 5. Repeatable: Although you cannot place your wedding video on a mantel and admire it every day, as you can with photos, you will be able to find many special times to sit and watch your videos and allow all the memories come flooding back to life.
