WHAT YOU MUST DO TO BUILD STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIPS IN 2023

Having luck in the dance industry isn’t just dependent on your capabilities alone but the depth and quality of relationships you have sustained over the years.
Therefore, if you are on the verge of building strategic relationships in 2023, these are a few things you can do:

1. Identify individuals/organizations that could be valuable to you in the industry.

2. Cultivate relationships with potential individuals.
This can involve reaching out and introducing yourself, attending dance events and networking, and finding ways to collaborate or provide value to one another.

3. Maintain open and honest communication with them.
Make sure to keep lines of communication open and be transparent about your goals and needs, as well as any challenges or issues that may arise.

4. Seek ways to add value to their life.
It could mean sharing vital opportunities with them or referring them to your network of audience or community.

5. Be dependable, and follow through on your commitments.

By following these tips, you can build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships that can help drive success for you and your partners come 2023.

Lovette Otegbola is a dancer, teacher, entrepreneur and mom with great skills and qualities. She started her professional dance career after studying at the University of Ibadan. She is the Artistic Director of Lovette’s BITS Dance company located in Lagos, Nigeria.Trained with The Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria where she became Head of Dance, Head of Drama Academy, and Head of Productions and Presenting House.

She has carved a niche in the Nigerian Dance industry and became a face associated with some Television shows in Nigeria and stage productions; some of which include Celebrity Takes 2 (Sponsored by Skye bank and produced by Spirit of David), Let’s Dance Nigeria (MNET), Maltina Dance All family show, a brand ambassador with Guinness Africa, (in the Made of Black campaign), Lacasera social media ambassador, MTN Project Fame West Africa choreographer (season 8 &9) , God’s Children Great talent (season 7, Talent coach, choreographer and creative) to mention a few.

She is a three time winner of National Couples Dance Championship organized by Spirit of David GDC in Nigeria. She is a few awards as best choreographer such as The BEATZ awards 2016, Era of Legends Award 2015, The Grand Awards (Dancers recognition award for Nigeria) 2018 to mention a few.

Her dance education includes: Classical Ballet, contemporary/lyrical ballet, creative dance technique, salsa, modern, modern jazz, Nigerian indigenious dances, Hip-Hop, etc.

Jemima Talatu Angulu Aka Mima is a Dancer, Choreographer, and Artistic Director, and Founder of The Krump Dance Studios Abuja.

As a choreographer, she infuses her Knowledge of Hip-hop and Other Contemporary dance styles to tell stories through her productions and has worked with Various Creative artists and Organizations such as D**e Chukwumerije, Davido, Clarence Peters, The American Embassy Nigeria, The French Institute Nigeria, The German Embassy on Collaborative projects in Abuja.

Her training Background includes Nigerian Cultural dances, Ballet, Jazz, Salsa, Hip-hop, and contemporary dance. Mima is also a graduate of the ISVP program at the Broadway Dance Center New York, a Graduate of Entrepreneurial Management at The Pan Atlantic University Nigeria, A Next Level Global Alumni, and a recipient of the arts in Public space Culture program.
As a producer, her work includes Grease "the Naija mix", For the love of hip-hop, Love and jazz, Omo Naija Expressions of the soul, textures, and Abuja the Musical. She is also the Initiator of “Creative Connect” a creative learning class experience and Krump Studio’s contemporary Dance Incubator and Training Program " Krump Nation" a project for building young contemporary dancers in areas of skill, community building, and entrepreneurship.

For her, the krump dance studios is a place to be inspired, to create, to train, and where dance is used as a tool to change lives.

Jemima has been featured in several documentaries and Her story has been shared in many articles as a pioneer and an inspiration for women and youths who seek a different path.

She spends her time teaching and working with youths using dance as her tool for community development and self-development. Jemima is also a group fitness instructor and the Creator of Krump Fitness and has gone to host and design several group fitness programs and mentored several fitness trainers.
