Often, small businesses are working within a tight Marketing budget, with even less allotted specifically for Social Media.

A good way to make an impact with what you've got is to gain an intimate understanding of your audience.

What problems are they facing? What are their likes/dislikes? How do they communicate about them?

How can you engage with them in a way that cuts through the noise?

Start creating Content that truly provides value to your audience in a way that they'll appreciate. Speak to their hearts. 🗣💖

I'm half-Guyanese, and all about this cake! 🇬🇾 🍰

If you don't know: this is Guyanese Black Cake. It's moist, dense, creamy, sweet, and soaked in rum.

Once you taste it, you'll never make the mistake of calling it a "fruitcake" again.

Add a little Royal Icing (Guyanese style) for the perfect flavor complement.

This one was made with love from an aunt in Toronto.

Today is Native American Heritage Day!

🪶 In 2009, Congress passed House Joint Resolution 40 (Pub. L. 111-33), the “Native American Heritage Day Act of 2009".

🪶 This designated the Friday immediately following Thanksgiving Day of each year as “Native American Heritage Day". - U.S. Indian Affairs

If you're Black Friday frenzy-shopping, why not support a Native American business this weekend?

You can also learn more about the area in which you live, and which tribal communities have historically thrived there pre-colonization.

Where I grew up, we learned (very little) about the Lenni Lenape.

I will be learning more about this tribe, keeping in mind that the legend of "Jenny Jump" I learned as a child (originally recorded by Swedish missionary Sven Roseen in 1747) is likely biased.
