Primary school pupils are invited to participate in bringing a new AR experience to Ipswich! We're asking them to get creative and contribute to the Augmented Reality (AR) Trail that's set to animate the town this summer. Starting in July, children can see their original artwork appear within the virtual world of 'DiGBY and Beattie's Adventure'.

This free, self-guided AR tour will feature interactive stops around Ipswich town centre, each showcasing seven magical themes and characters unique to Ipswich including DiGBY the blue octopus and Cardinal Wolsey's cat. Players use their smartphones to navigate a set route that combines the real world with computer-generated content, in a mix of learning and fun, games and storytelling. At each stop, interact with the characters and learn about the themes.

In the lead-up to the launch next month, children from all the primary schools can draw their favourite Ipswich character and then see their artwork hung on digital art walls around the town 🎨 🖌️ 🖼️

It may not have felt like a summer night when we were driving to the Ipswich Regent Theatre last night for the opening night of Grease The Musical, but the show was truly ELECTRIFYING.

I took my daughter and niece (both huge Grease fans) and we all absolutely loved it. The big numbers such as "Greased Lightnin" and "We go Together" were stunning. I actually missed some of the action on stage as watching the girls faces enjoying the show was just wonderful. The absolute highlight for me however was the show finale with a very welcome mega mix of all the favourite numbers from throughout the show. A full 10 out of 10 from us!

If you are lucky enough to have got tickets to see the show this week you are in for a treat, and if you haven't already booked tickets I would suggest you BOOK NOW as there are only a few left. Take a look at the website to see what is still available: https://ipswichtheatres.co.uk/

We visited Bury Bowl Ltd today and had such a great time that I wanted to share our experience. It was easy to book ahead using their online booking system. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful and made sure we had registered our car to avoid any parking tickets. It was really well maintained, with a member of staff cleaning the seating area and balls before and after each use. But what really blew me away was the maintenance man helping my daughter with one of the arcade machines, actually paying with his own money to make sure she could have a go on the claw machine. First class customer service, which made her day (and mine). Would highly recommend a visit.

Is your child fully vaccinated?

You may have read or heard that cases of measles are increasing in England. While cases in Suffolk are currently still low, we should prepare for and protect against the potential for increased cases. If your child has not been fully vaccinated with the MMR vaccine it is a good time to get this done to protect them.
