I know there is an app for everything, but I wanted a physical book to track my mental health journey. One to easily see progress and patterns. So, I made one. I am so pleased with how it turned out. A vulnerable little backstory…
My hormones have always been a mess. I suppose I always just assumed I was overly emotional or sensitive, but after learning in 2018 that I have endometriosis it all started to make sense.
In 2020, after fertility treatments, a pregnancy, and a delivery I was riding an emotional rollercoaster. Then, my sister died and that rollercoaster went completely off the rails. Last year, after starting to feel like my hormones were finally starting to level out a bit they randomly went haywire. PMDD is not a fun diagnosis, but goes hand in hand with endo. I put off going to the doctor for quite some time. I knew the “treatment” was not something I’d be interested in. Turns out, I was right. In a world of doctors and insurance companies that prioritize profit and policy over patient care, advocating for yourself is exhausting.
All that to say, I am on a mission to find a solution that works for me. In addition to therapy and prioritizing a daily quiet time with Jesus, tracking my mood, diet, hydration, activity level, etc. has helped pinpoint what helps my overall mental state and what doesn’t. I want to be the very best version of myself for my husband and daughter. 💛 I’m looking forward to adding this journal to my daily routine.
