✦ So, our last film "Tombaroli" reached almost 2500 views on YouTube, which is an unbelievable result for a short independent documentary made by two people with no actual distribution nor promotion. It makes me believe it was a good idea to do something differently and reach the public directly, especially in the times of pandemic.

Short description:

A series of major earthquakes struck Central Italy in August and in October of 2016. Many cities around Ascoli Piceno have been destroyed. Ascoli itself, even though it has also been damaged, became a shelter for people, paintings and sacred statues coming from destroyed villages.

The film explores four different stories of people brought together by this tragedy. By recovering broken works of art, they try to recover their own past.

In the dark of the night three man go on a hunt looking for treasures in an ancient Etruscan necropolis. An old guardian tries to protect the treasures and the peace of the deceased. Documentary Indiana Jones with a great dash of humor.

I present you a new film! An anthropological documentary short shot in Kazakhstan with Karina Gaibulina, Kazakh-Polish PhD researcher that studies stories of Polish political prisoners sent to Siberia in 19th century. The film questions the common martyrological narrative on this topic. It also asks questions about the work of a scientist and various difficulties she or he needs to face during the research. Przedstawiam Wam nowy film - krótkometrażowy dokument antropologiczny, do którego realizacji zaprosiła mnie Karina Gaibulina, dawniej moja wykładowczyni na UW, obecnie wspaniała koleżanka.

Film jest częścią jej naukowych poszukiwań dotyczących polskich zesłańców na Syberii w XIX wieku. Jednym z nich jest Adolf Januszkiewicz, który za udział w Powstaniu Listopadowym został zesłany do Kazachstanu.

Film jest eksperymentem, próbą przełożenia teorii naukowej na język audiowizualny. Akademicka łamigłówka, mam nadzieję, że interesująca.

In Argentina we are still in full lockdown. Fortunately I had a great pleasure to travel (at least metaphorically) to the south of Argentina while working on this piece.

"Navegar" by Flor de Tango was edited with great family archives of the artist from beautiful Patagonia. Hope you enjoy the video and especially the music of this amazing lady and her band!

Fede Cabral is a great argentinian artist mixing pop and folk sounds of South America with electronic music. We shot "Anteojos" by just improvising one day and trying to see what the world has in store for us. Well, then the lockdown came. But magically we finished the video and now you can watch it! I happened to be in Argentina when the pandemic begun. Away from Poland, I'm observing what's taking place in my motherland, where some controvertial laws are going to be discussed these days - without any possibility, for those who disagree, to protest, because of the lockdown. Today Poland's parliament will discuss a proposal to tighten abortion laws. I'm fully aware of how difficult this topic is, even for me. But I thought it might be a good occasion to share with you a song. It's a fragment of a bigger documentary project about music, that I'm working on here in Buenos Aires. Shot during a manifestation just few weeks ago, on the 19th of February 2020.

Hey! I decided to launch this page to share with you some of the short film projects I worked on recently. I don't pretend anything, as I'm a marketing disaster. I just hope to reach those of you who would like to dedicate some of their time to see stories from different parts of the world and follow me while working on new projects. I hope to learn and grow while sharing my projects with you and hearing your opinions. I also hope these films will take you to some new places, at least for a while, especially in these difficult times.
