This week, we’re back to the Discussion Points and talking with our guests about any skills employers would be looking for from recent graduates or students just about to graduate from their degrees.
Joe Blake-Turner from Channel 4 Sport says it’s best to have a CV with work that will stick in memory - a good discussion point for going into jobs! Another thing Joe suggests is to look into the people who you’re applying to work with - that way you have something to make you stand out!
Jane from National Dance Company Wales suggests demonstrating that you can get on the phone and make stuff happen, and be persuasive in your interviews, and Sophie from Creative England says taking initiative is definitely a good skill to have!

A great piece of advice from Joe was to “take [the challenges of going into the job market post-COVID] as creative possibilities” - something our students and graduates know all too well!

This week is the last of our second batch of Discussion Points, where we sat down and had a chat with our guests about what a typical day could look like working in media.
We had some amazing guests back in June, with some very interesting day-to-day lives, and it certainly gave the students some food for thought on what things could be like going into their chosen fields of work after graduating!
We’re currently just about to begin discussing what’s next for the Producers Conference within the team, and we’re excited to reveal that to you once we have confirmed things!
