The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) in the Philippines declared Teenage Pregnancy as a national and social emergency. Among the 17 regions in the country, CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) recorded the highest number of cases with nearly 25,000 live births from teenage mothers in 2019. The numbers are expected to rise with coronavirus, spreading since last year. The 13-year-old Karen from Laguna will be part of the new records of adolescent mothers.
