We're excited to announce that we are expanding our services and offerings as we continue to create equitable opportunities to learn, heal, & transform!
Day 1's know that what started as a personal page has evolved into space for sharing holistic practices that help to harmonize the mind, body & spirit. Moving forward, my partner Maky and I (Nero) will be managing the BOWH account together.
Our page will focus on the relationship between holistic health and education. As we reconstruct the page, we plan on archiving posts and sharing a wealth of fresh new content.

Qigong is a longstanding energy cultivation practice that originated in China. This 6-week course is designed to guide toddlers in the exploration of their movements, breath and environment while practicing animal-centered mindfulness techniques.

Have you tried stretching in the shower? Raising the body temperature softens the muscles & tendons to soften, allowing their fibers to be more elastic. This is why it can be beneficial to do a light warm up before moving into a stretching routine. A warm shower can also help to calm the mind, which can then further assist the muscles to relax.
Pro tip for not getting water up your nose during this stretch: instead of tucking the chin at the bottom of the bend, relax the jaw and direct the gaze towards the floor ๐จ

Rhythmogenesis describes how the body harmonizes rhythm. Embedded in your spine are clusters of neural circuits that know how to stimulate walking, breathing, and swallowing without much help from the thinking brain.
This idea can be applied to matters of the heart. When this energy center is flowing freely, it orchestrates a symphony of generosity, lightness, & compassion. It feels effortless to make connections and love unconditionally.
Practicing inversions like these can help to reset our energetic rhythm through stimulating the Anahata chakra. Try playing with different stances and see how it feels to allow yourself to dance with the day ๐ฃ
*If you experience high blood pressure regularly, you can modify this posture by sitting down with legs extended while folding forward to rest the palms on the shins. Whichever style you choose, remember to practice kindness by slowlyyy coming out of the fold.

In the heart space you can find the Anahata chakra, a major energy center thatโs associated with the sensations of love. When this channel is allowing energy to flow freely, you may notice an ease in your movements & a lightness in the chest.
This center is also associated with the sensations that come with fear - when the heart chakra is blocked or out of alignment. It can show up as chest tightness & feeling detached.
Practicing Mudita (sympathetic joy) can help keep the heart chakra open to the gifts & insights waiting for you in the present moment. Heart opening movements like the ones in this clip can also help to help the mind body & spirit tune into the love frequency ๐ถ
