The National Citizens Inquiry started in mid March of this year with the first location being Truro, Nova Scotia. Proceeding events occurred in Toronto, Winnipeg, and most recently in Saskatoon.

The next event is taking place in Red Deer, Alberta and will run from April 26th starting at 9:00am until April 28th ending at 5:00pm mountain standard time.

Preceding inquiries have typically lasted many hours and can be watched via their website as well as their social media links.

Many believe this is one of the more important stories of our time yet there is practically no media coverage. The IN SIGHT Report is considering heading there to briefly speak with organizers and possibly participants. Do you think TISR should show up?

As of Tuesday, March 8, 2022, the City of Edmonton mask mandates were dropped in an 8-5 vote. This comes at a time of increased levels of pressure from many Edmontonians.

According to the city's website:
"Edmonton's Temporary Mandatory Face Coverings Bylaw has been repealed. However, masks are still required in settings as required by the Government of Alberta, including public transit, AHS-operated and contracted facilities, and all continuing care settings."

Additionally, the Government of Alberta has begun taking steps to prevent municipalities from being able to create their own health bylaws. Bill 4, the Municipal Government Amendment Act 2022 would make specific changes to the Municipal Government Act, focused on COVID-19 health measures. At this time, Alberta's NDP opposition appears to be strongly against the UCP moving forward with work on this amendment.
