Back to the Movies - The Backstory
It began in film school, where a fledgling editor named Nat and wannabe critic named Ben forged a lifelong friendship debating the merits of the Oscars, the artificiality of Jurassic Park, and whether There Will Be Blood should have beaten No Country for Old Men for the Best Picture statue.
It continues a decade later with Back to the Movies, a new podcast where Nat and Ben reunite to explore the great years in cinema history. Join them for deep dives into the good, the bad, the overrated, and the unjustly forgotten films that made those years what they were.
Their odyssey begins with 1990 (which just so happens to be the year Nat and Ben were born). Do the films hold up? Was it a great year for cinema? Will our heroes survive the existential terror of turning 30? The only way to find out is to go... Back to the Movies!
