✨ We've got a brand-spanking new look and I thought it was time for a fresh introduction...

In case we haven't met or you've forgotten about me, let me give you a quick intro!

I started Isla Studios because I wanted to embrace the digital nomad lifestyle while letting my creativity run wild. But let me tell you, it hasn't been a walk in the park! 🤷🏽 It's been quite a journey so far.

Now, here are a few things you might wanna know about yours truly:

♊ I'm a Gemini, a manifesting generator, and an ENFJ girlie!
☕ Oh, coffee? It's practically my lifeblood! I can guzzle down up to 4 cups a day. ☕
✈️ Traveling is my other half, which actually played a significant role in our recent rebrand. I'll be sharing more about that soon, stay tuned!
🧳 My short-term goal is to visit all 82 provinces of the Philippines (and I'm sooo close to achieving it!) But living that island life has always been THE dream.

Whenever I design labels, number one thing that I consider especially if the product will be displayed on a shop's shelf, is that the customer has to be able to 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. Do they differ in fragrance? Ingredients used? Product benefit? Etc.

⚡𝐖𝐇𝐘? The last thing you want to do is 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐞 them.

❌ When customers are confused, they do not buy.

✅ So as much as possible, you would want to make everything convenient for them, especially when it comes to understanding your products and offers ✨✨

✅ Using the right colors can help you do this! You can either use the color that the variant represents or you can also use your very own brand colors as long as its appropriate, instead of just changing the label's name.☀️

We sometimes find ourselves lost in our busy schedules that we forget to also have to take some time off and this is why I really love this brand's vision. 😍

I used to feel 𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒕𝒚 when I rest and just binge watch Netflix.

⚡We equate productivity to rest.
⚡We think we ONLY deserve to unwind IF we had a full-hustle productive day/week/month.

🍃 But what about the slow unproductive days?

⚡ We feel guilt, like we did not earn the right to sit back and relax. 🙁 We allow it to ourselves only if and when we trick our minds into believing that we’ve done “enough” to deserve that rest.

This is one of the reasons why branding, from your colors to your messaging, is SO important...for you to leave a 📍MARK 📍 to your audience's mind.

But how can you actually do this? Here's some tips you can do to effectively build your brand:

1. 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 - people buy from people they can relate to. Make sure to reflect WHO you are, your personality, your interests, etc. What makes you different among the others? What does people close say about you? This could be literally anything! ☀️

2. 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 - connect, connect connect, do you often hear this too? But when building a brand, you can't just connect. You have to build a 'meaningful' relationship and engage in conversations. Your brand has to make your audience feel seen & heard, that will make them want to stick with you. 👭👋

I believe this is one of the most underrated part of branding 🤯

Your brand's typography is something you want to make sure its not just cute or bold or pretty, it must be able to accurately relay the emotional impact you want your audience to feel and its VERY important that it represents who you are as ✨ brand ✨

Yes, just mere edges of letters can speak volumes to your readers!

Ideally, you should only choose 1-3 fonts, any more than that can make things pretty messy.

Firstly, what is a mood board?

This is not just a collage.

Its a method used to set the visual direction for a project, it communicates concepts and visual ideas. It helps collate and focus ideas to build a design story. 💫

This is the VERY first part of the design process when creating a brand. Most of the time, when you & your designer totally notch this phase, things will go smoothly afterwards! 👌🏼✨

Sharing this branding project for 𝑴𝑨𝑫𝑹𝑬. This brand has an amazing amazing vision! From the packaging up to the product itself, they made sure that it lessens the harmful impact to the environment. 🌿🌱🌻

Other than promoting organic and eco-friendliness of their products, it also aims to empower women! They have a VERY unique niche too, FEMALE SURFERS. Sooo amazing! ✨✨

I know script/cursive fonts may be look very pretty but –

Most of the time, it is not readable. You should make everything feel comfy and pleasant for your readers.

When you use this kind of typeface extensively, like capitalizing all characters or applying it as your body text, your design will most probably look like chaos!

It's enough to use script/cursive fonts as accent or a headline to your blog/website, it'll draw more impact and attention!

Remember, script fonts are never meant to be in large bodies of text and should never be put in ALL CAPS. 😉
