It’s so sad to see that the only key indicators that people see to define the success of a streamer are the number of viewers that they have on stream. For someone that went through both facebook and twitch, streamed from a borrowed PC or even at a local icafe, had spent countless of hours streaming, went from 0 viewers to even a hundred at most, and has been continuing to build a community of my own up to this day, I’ve always tried to avoid the negativity on my feed and streams and focus to improve on my craft while I can, not because I compare myself to other streamers but because I love what I do with or without the monetary rewards that I could get from grinding everyday.

Streaming has led me to a different environment that has helped me grow in all sorts of different ways. I’ve met the most supportive people from both viewers and co-streamers, & even made friends with the best people (not to mention has the same interests and vibe as you). Streaming also allowed me to express myself in a manner that I couldn’t really do in real life (but it made it more enjoyable too! Bc you get to share it with people who actually get you). This list could go on and on but to get to the point nalang rin, I hope this l issue towards streamers who do *insert something streamers do or wear here* and any form of toxicity (that isn’t exactly worth pondering on anymore) would come to an end. We’re so blinded by the numbers, insecurities, envy, hate & FILIPINO CRAB MENTALITY that we don’t see the point of why we stream in the first place. I wouldn’t hate you for streaming for money and fame, but I will if you are pulling other streamers down just because they have more donations and viewership than you.

Also, if you really want to know what really makes a streamer to consider themselves successful? Ask them yourself and you’ll get PLENTY OF DIFFERENT answers and you’ll know who the genuine ones are. But if you’ll ask me, I’ll know when I really made it when I’ve been taken seriously as an aspiring competitive player (with sick gameplay) someday , to be someone who is more than just a face (charot!😂) , when I’ve inspired other gamers(male or female or lgbtq) to get into the esports scene not just in competitive gaming or casting and when I’ve finally become a person that somebody’s kid would laugh to and/or aspire to be when they grow up.

PS. I’m still a noob but if you want to help me out with my progress as a player or prolly give out tips/tricks on how to get güd, hit a follow 😀

PPS. This post may not make sense at all bc I haven’t slept yet and its almost 9am here in the ph

Quick tip lang rin: before we are too quick to judge on what the streamer is really about, how about spending some time getting to know them first before even bashing them for the sake of being viral on socmed or just jumping on the hate train bc its mainstream now.
