Jazeps Vitols 6th International Choral Conductor's Competition 6th International Choral Conductors Competition organized by Choral Conducting Department of Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music.

To continue the more than a century long tradition of choir singing and choir conducting, the Department of Choir Conducting, Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (JVLMA), is holding the Jāzeps Vītols 6th International Choral Conductors Competition. The Jāzeps Vītols 6th International Choral Conductors Competition will be held in cooperation with three professional choirs – the State Choir Latvi

ja, the Latvian Radio Choir and Riga Chamber Choir Ave Sol. The Mixed Choir and Symphony Orchestra of JVLMA will also take part in the competition program. Choral conductors, born no earlier than 1989, are eligible for participation in the competition. Prizes and awards

First prize - 2500 EUR and the title of laureate
Second prize - 2000 EUR and the title of laureate
Third prize - 1500 EUR and the title of laureate
Runner-up prize – 500 EUR

October 22
13:00 The opening ceremony
14:00 – 19:00 An hour- long rehearsal with two accompanists

October 23
10:00 – 18:00 Round I - conducting with the piano

October 24
10:00 – 18:00 Round I - work with the Mixed Choir of JVLMA
19:30 Announcement of the results for Round I

October 25
10:00 – 13:00 Round II – rehearsal with the Latvian Radio Choir
14:00 – 17:00 Round II - rehearsal with the Riga Chamber Choir Ave Sol
19:00 Round II - concert with Latvian Radio Choir and Riga Chamber Choir Ave Sol
22:00 Announcement of the results for Round II

October 26
10:00 – 14:00 Round III - rehearsal with the State Choir Latvija, the Mixed Choir and Symphony Orchestra of JVLMA
17:00 Round III – concert and awarding ceremony
