SAVE IT FOR YOUR NEXT DATE 🍸

Places you can’t miss in Ville Haute | Part IV

In a corner of Grand Rue, you’ll find this bar where you can have traditional cocktails with a twist. They provide some nibbles along with your drinks, but you can also ask for some light food to share

Adding to that, the atmosphere is intimate, considering the sophisticated decoration and the darker wall tones. It is usually less crowded, which helps when you want to have conversations without screaming 😬

All in all, this is the perfect bar for a date and I will definitely be back to try other cocktails 😏

ℹ️ As there are not that many tables, I’d advise you to book one in advance, which you can do on their website

📍 Shinzo at 8 Grand Rue, Luxembourg City

SAVE THIS FOR YOUR BAO CRAVES 🤸

Places you can’t miss in Clausen | Part I

This one had been on my “to try” list for a while and I finally went there on a Friday evening when I was craving some Baos. I feel like baos can easily feel very mushy, but THESE ONES 🫨🫨

First of all, they were quite big, I was satisfied with just a dish of Gua Baos and I definitely recommend the pulled pork ones, a classic that never goes out of fashion 💁🏻‍♀️

But, as the idea is to share, we also ordered some aubergine starters and the golden mushrooms. My expectations were not high for the starters, but the mushrooms were a pleasant surprise! 🍄‍🟫👌🏻

So, this is definitely a post I’d recommend you to save so you don’t forget to check this restaurant for your next Bao dinner 🥷

ℹ️ As the space is rather small, I recommend you to book a table in advance either by calling or online.

SAVE THIS FOR YOUR NEXT BRUNCH 🥞

Places you can’t miss in Bonnevoie | Part IV

A café with gluten-free options in the heart of Bonnevoie has opened this summer, in case you were not paying attention 🤭

They have salty or sweet pancakes and even a menu in case you want a bit of both. The pancakes are delicious, American style pancakes perfect for a brunch. They also have sandwiches, eggs..so no excuse to not check it out 🫣

ℹ️ They are open on Sundays too! And they’re available on uber eats in case you’re feeling lazy 🤗

SAVE THIS POST FOR YOUR NEXT NOODLES CRAVE 🍜🥢

Places in Ville Haute you can’t miss | Part III

There are many new restaurants opening in Luxembourg, so my list of places to try out is growing. And this is one of them, which has been on my wishlist for a while.

With few tables outside, I’ve decided to try these noodles on one of the last sunny days. And I will for sure be back cause they were really, but like REALLY delicious 🤤

I ordered the seafood noodles and I could eat them every week. The portions are well-served and the price is very reasonable.

They are very nice, have a very efficient service and the food arrived quickly.

You can easily pass by and not notice it, as you only see the door and window from the outside. You can also check the noodles being made while you’re there 🧑🏻‍🍳

ℹ️ They are closed on Sundays, but open until 22.30h on the other days.

📍 Dancing Noodles, 9-11 Rue Louvigny,
Ville-Haute, Luxembourg City

When in Vilnius, you can add a day trip to

It was the previous capital of Lithuania 🇱🇹 as the Grand Dukes used to live in the 🏰 surrounded by the lake

You can see different rooms with decorations from that period, instruments of torture in the patio and the whole history of Lithuania and the castle, including its reconstruction

It’s quite easy to go either by train or bus from Vilnius to Trakai and it must be lovely in the summer!

Vilnius has many restaurants, but here are my recommendations:
👉🏻 for Lithuanian dishes, you can go to Bernelių Užeiga 🇱🇹 and try the , a kind of potato dumplings, and the beetroot soup which comes with some potatoes on the side 🥔 the fried bread sticks are also a must (kepta duona)!!
👉🏻 for a coffee break, head to on Pilies Street, they have a gorgeous ceiling light and some great brownies and eclairs 🤤
👉🏻 if you’re craving pasta, I definitely recommend The Date, a recently opened restaurant in Vilniaus Street where you can head for a glass wine and grab dinner 🍝🍷

Y for Yearning | The preparations for the yearly ski vacay have started and I’m soooo ready for them!! 🎿

I really miss the days spent at the mountains, focusing on improving the technique and testing our limits ⛷️ to then be rewarded with that 🍹

Do you usually go for some ski vacations or is that not your thing?

Unbelievable things about Luxembourg
U for Unbelievable | Let me share with you 10 unbelievable things about the only Grand Duchy in the world, Luxembourg 🇱🇺

1. In less than 30mins from the city center, you can be in a different country. Well, the closest IKEA is already in Belgium 🤭
2. It is the country with the highest share of foreigners in the EU. Portuguese is the largest nationality present in the country (14.5%) after Luxembourgish (52.8%).
3. There are three official languages: German, French, and Lëtzebuergesch (Luxembourgish) but you can get around with English or Portuguese.
4. There are many cross borders (peoe working in Luxembourg but living in the neighbouring countries): 47% of the country’s workforce or 224.000 people 😳
5. There are many wineries on the southern west side of the country, even though it isn’t a country known for its wine 🍷
6. Schengen, a town known for the Schengen Agreements, is located in Luxembourg and borders France and Germany 🤝🇪🇺
7. It has one of highest densities of medieval architecture in Europe. There’s even a “Valley of the Seven Castles” trail spanning 25km 🏰
Did you know all this?

T for Tonkatsu | If you’re going to Tokyo, you’ll surely visit the Ginza neighbourhood. And I would highly recommend you to have tonkatsu for lunch 🍚

This was actually a recommendation we found at the 12 floors Uniqlo store in Ginza, where they had a campaign featuring the best restaurants in the area.

It was quite hard to find it, as you barely notice the narrow entrance and then you have stairs to the floor underneath. Even if there’s queue, it doesn’t take that long to get a spot for lunch.

There are different menus, but I’d recommend you to get the “Special Katsu Don” menu with the miso soup. This includes 80g of a tender pork fillet and the soft-boiled egg on top will take you to heaven while watching the kitchen prepare the dishes 🧑🏻‍🍳

This is seriously one of the best dishes I had in Japan. So, don’t miss this little door with the dishes on the window and you’ll thank me later!

H for the H10 Hotel Duque de Loulé’s Rooftop: Terraço Chill-Out Limão 🍋 Save it if you’re looking for a less touristic spot for a drink 🍹

This rooftop has a very chill atmosphere, respecting its name, it’s not very known and you can have a drink at a less crowded rooftop. It’s one of my favourites!

G for Good, cause I thought it might be good to introduce myself 🙋🏻‍♀️

I’m Sara and, besides the random facts above, why not share one more? I’ve also decided to start a blog, where you’ll find some recommendations of places to visit, where to eat and what not to miss not only in Luxembourg, but also back home in Lisbon and wherever I travel to.

Let me know what you’d like to see more of below 👇🏻

F for First, my first blog post 🫣 and it had to be about Tenerife, a place you can go throughout the whole year when you are missing summer!

You’ll find the main places to visit, as well as some restaurant recommendations. If you’re planning to go to the Canary Islands, I’d defo recommend to visit Tenerife and Fuerteventura. They’re both very different, so a good combo for a longer trip 🌊

You’ll find all the information under the link in my bio, let me know your thoughts and share other places you’d like itineraries for below👇🏻
