Viktoria Roshchyna died in September in Russian custody. The journalist reported from places most other Ukrainian journalists would not go and was one of the last to write openly from the territory in Ukraine forcibly taken by Russian troops. Her courage took her even further—into Russia itself. The circumstances of her death remain unclear, as is what she intended to do in Russia. She was 25.

The vehicles are not loaded with cattle, but with Haitians being deported by the Dominican immigration authorities. They include young men, pregnant women, unaccompanied children and some people who have never lived in Haiti.
