Autopsy Reports to be Released Monday

The autopsy reports of the late Princess Cooper and Melvin Togbah will be released this Monday, April 18, 2022 at a Special Press briefing at the Ministry of Information.

An autopsy is a surgical procedure that consists of a thorough examination of a co**se by dissection to determine the cause, mode, and manner of death or to evaluate any disease or injury.

Autopsies of the late Princess Cooper and Melvin Togbah were performed by two Liberian trained pathologists, Dr. Benedict K. Kolee and Dr. Zoebon B. Kpadeh, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center.

The process was conducted with the sole purpose of establishing causes of death after the two deceased Liberians were discovered lying unconscious under mysterious circumstances.

Members of the public, including: civil society actors, the media, well-wishers and sympathizers are all asked to follow the Ministry of Information Special Press briefing this Monday which starts at 11 AM.

OP-ED: What Would J.J. Roberts Have to Say about Liberia Today?

As we celebrate the life of a great Liberian, born 213 years ago in the United States before emigrating to this land at 20 years old, I have been asking myself what Joseph Jenkins Roberts would say about Liberia today.

Sixty years after the arrival of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Liberia, 19 years after the end of the civil war crisis, and seven years after the eradication of Ebola, the taxpayers of the United States contribute to this country over $110 million per year of foreign assistance.

This includes over $79 million per year donated to the health sector. Approximately $9 million is specifically for purchasing medications and commodities for the Liberian people and improving the Ministry of Health’s effective distribution and warehousing of pharmaceuticals. Despite this extra support, we learn regularly about places like Kolahun in Lofa County and Sanniquellie in Nimba County, where clinics and hospitals must make do without even the most basic drugs.

Troublingly, Embassy investigations indicate that not only are some citizens diverting public medical resources and low-cost drugs for personal gain, but that babies, young children, and birthing mothers are dying needlessly as a result.

As a Peace Corps volunteer, I was blessed to live for two years in villages (without electricity or running water) in West Africa. First thing every morning, each household would take advantage of the cool, early morning daylight to sweep inside and outside and dispose of debris. Villagers then coordinated with the local government to deliver waste daily to a designated landfill.

The state of cleanliness in the city of Monrovia, which is more developed and a far wealthier community, sadly does not compare.

The President of the United States Joe Biden has been criticized for his constant post on Russia invasion of Ukraine on ground that his post give reasons for Russia to continue her invasion of Ukraine.

President Joe Biden's consistently post indicating that NATO will not send troops to Ukraine in order to avoid confrontation with Russia.

according to USA'S President, any attempt for NATO and its allies to send troops in Ukraine will lead to World war three, something he said should be avoided.

Many people have considered his comments as panicking and escaping tactics not to help Ukraine militarily in fighting Russia's militaries.
According to people around the world, NATO and it's allies have betrayed the trust Ukraine has posted in them for the past years.

Ukraine's president has been calling for Military and others aid since Russia launched what she called military operations in Ukraine. the military operations has been on nearly three weeks.

Russia has faced huge international sanctions on many of its products and other things, but those sanctions have not been able to stop Russia invasion of Ukraine.

Millions of Ukraineans have lift the Country and hundreds of people have died in the invasion since it began in Ukraine in February this year 2022.

Former Representative of the Electoral District Number Two Montserrado County Sekou S. Kanneh says he will clamp down all the lies leveled against him.

"I need to be robust in encountering some of the negative things that have been said at the time" Mr. Kanneh maintains.

He said the residents and citizens of District two will do their critical analysis and judge between his regime as Lawmaker and the current Lawmaker's regime in term of Leadership and Development.

Former District Two Lawmaker believed that some individuals in the District have been preaching tribal and religious politics agaisnt him, which he considered to be one of the major factors that led to his defeat in 2017.

Sekou Kanneh was massively defeated during the 2017 Presidential and Legislative elections in District two by the Incumbent Lawmaker Jimmy W. Smith over one thousand votes contrary to what he said on Local Radio.

Speaking on Ok FM 99.5 morning Rush March 3, 2022. Mr. Kanneh Indicated that Lawmaker Jimmy Smith defeated him with 700 to 800 votes margin in the Election.

Quality News TV Live has gathered the Official result of District two Election from National Elections Commission which placed Smith ahead of Kanneh with more than 1000 margin (votes).

In the main vein, the 53rd National Legislator disclosed his intention to contest on UP'S ticket in District two Montserrado County comes 2023.

Sekou S. Kanneh, who is strong member of former ruling Unity Party however noted that his resurfacing in the District politics is to bring true to the residents that has been buried with lies by some people in the District.

He further pledged to finish all his incomplete projects when elected as next Representative of the District.

Ukraine seems to be falling as Kherson mayor indicates that the Kherson city has fallen

The mayor of the Ukrainian city of Kherson Ihor Kolykhaiev has said that the Ukrainian military is no longer in the city and that its inhabitants must now carry out the instructions of “armed people who came to the city’s administration” — indicating that the city has now fallen under Russian control.

The announcement on his page follows several days of pressure on Kherson by Russian forces who had surrounded the city.

Kherson is a strategically important city on an inlet from the Black Sea with a population of nearly 300,000. On Wednesday in Kyiv, the mayor had disputed Russian claims of control saying Ukrainian forces were still fighting in parts of the city. The new posting said Ukrainian forces had left.

The mayor also told the New York Times in an interview that a group of about 10 armed Russian officers, including the commander of forces attacking the city, entered the city hall building Wednesday. He said he was informed by the Russian officers that they were planning to set up a new administration similar to those in two Russian-backed separatist enclaves in eastern Ukraine, according to the NY Times interview.

What this means: If Kherson is now under Russian control, it would be a significant moment in the conflict, as it would mark the first major city seized by Russian forces.

Late Wednesday, Hennady Lahuta, the head of Kherson regional administration, issued a message saying: “I ask everyone who is not at home now, or who is planning to go outside, not to do so. The occupiers are in all areas of the city and are very dangerous.”

Without saying explicitly that the Russians controlled the city, mayor Kolykhaiev said on Wednesday night that “there were armed visitors in the city executive committee today.”

"The team and I are peaceful people, we had no weapons, there was no aggression from our side."

“I didn't make any promises to them. I just have nothing to promise. I'm only interested in the normal life of our city! I just asked not to shoot people.”

In his Facebook message, he went on to say, “We do not have Armed Forces in the city, only civilians and people who want to LIVE here!”

Kolykhaiev said that there were now new rules in the city, which included a curfew and restrictions on transport in and out of the city.

He said that another rule was that “Pedestrians walk one by one, maximum two. Don’t provoke the military.”

He finished: “Let it be for now. The flag above us is Ukrainian. And in order to keep it the same, these requirements will have to be met. I can't offer anything else.”

News agency Reuters informed quoting an Ukrainian presidential advisor, as Moscow's invasion of its neighbour reached Day 5.

Ukraine has vowed not to give ground at talks with Moscow and said their goal for the talks was an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukraine.
