According to WAFU, the seminar runs from May 5th to May 10th, and aims to enhance the referees’ football understanding, tactical approach, decision-making process, game management, players management, and match control among others.

Tunisian opposition leader Rached Ghannouchi has joined a hunger strike by other political detainees to mark a year since their detention began. Ghannouchi, 82, a fierce critic of President Kais Saied and head of the Ennahda main opposition party, was jailed last year on charges of incitement against police and plotting against state security. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal meets with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida as a part of the Japan-Ukraine Conference for Promotion of Economic Growth and Reconstruction at Kishida's official residence in Tokyo, Japan, Feb. 19, 2024.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida pledged support for Ukraine’s reconstruction at a conference Monday in Tokyo that brought together several hundred government and business leaders from the two countries.
“The war in Ukraine is still going on at this very moment and the situation is not easy,” Kishida said. “The promotion of economic reconstruction, however, is not only an investment for the future of Ukraine but also investing in Japan and the whole globe.”
Kishida also pledged to relax visa controls and announced the Japan External Trade Organization would open an office Kyiv.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said the two countries signed more than 50 cooperation agreements, including “an intergovernmental convention on the avoidance of double taxation, which is extremely important for Japanese companies planning new projects in Ukraine.”
“By combining our powers ... we can change this challenge into an opportunity for future growth and prosperity,” Shmyhal said on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Japan's experiences in reconstruction (from World War II) and its economic miracle provide us with inspiration.”

PRESIDENT BOAKAI IN GHANA ON A WORKING VISIT

The President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., left the country today, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, for a two-day work visit to the Republic of Ghana.
While in Ghana, the President will meet and hold consultations with his Brother and Friend, Ghanaian Leader, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, on matters of mutual interest to both countries and issues obtaining in the sub-region.
In his letter to the Legislature regarding his departure from the country, the President informed them that the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Honorable Sylvester M. Grigsby, will chair the Cabinet in close consultation with the Vice President as His Excellency remains in communication via telephone.
