Seykajipo Writes:
"Bad Governance Suffer Liberians"
In contemporary Liberia, the story of this West African nation remains unchanged, especially so when a new administration is about to take over the affairs of the state. Everybody who one way or the other, has a connection with the new group of people will start to celebrate because in their thinking things will get better.
But in no time the same people who celebrated for change and had hoped that a new beginning had been birthed, will start to complain about the same kind of of misrule they experienced under the last administration.
At this point, Liberians become disappointed, disenchanted and bewildered
When will the story change?
Today, at the helm of power are indigenous people or native born Liberians and the story still remains the same. The issue about public and political corruption, remain the same.
The issue about job creation, is a myth, whether under Madam Ellen Johnson- Sirleaf or Mr. George Weah. The entire country is in circles, everything remains a challenge for Liberia while other countries in the subregion are making tremendous progress in education, technology, health, and economic development.
Corruption remains a menace with no substantive effort on the part of our past and present leaders to holistically fight this monster, that continues to derail the country's development.
In Liberia, poor governance has led to poor economic growth and it is manifested through corruption, political instability, ineffective rule of law and institutions.
Despite stringent anti-corruption and permanent commissions to curtail it in Liberia, corruption reigns supreme in the country.
