Her leg was broken in a process when her Grand mother was beating her sometimes in 2023.

Police arrested the situation, detained the Grand Mother, but was later released to cater to the survival.

This time around, little Theresa Toe, 5 years old, who's leg got broken, has now encounter another severe injury from the same Grand Mother.

On April 3, 2024, Theresa's Grand father brought a bird home which he killed from the bush.

The Grand Mother roasted the bird, placed it on the dryer, over the fire, until it got dried, now awaiting evening time for cooking.

The 5year old kid, Theresa, according to eye witness was left all alone home, hungry.

She cut off a piece of the bird and ate it.

"Unfortunately for her," eye witnesses continues, "When the Grand parents left from the bush and realized that the bird has been eaten by Theresa.

The Grand Mother immediately caught Theresa, not only whipped her, but also placed a palm seed in the fire, and placed the hot seed into the hands of the little kid, strengthening her two palms together while she holds the hot palm seed, causing her hands to burn.

Since the incident occurred on April 3, 2024, no one had ever attended to the kid, until one of the community dwellers who's name was withheld by the police for security purposes, reported the situation.

This is what the Pleebo Police Commander, Col. J. Max Roberts told reporters, "So the police arrested the matter, immediately visited the survivals resident, but only met the Grand father. The Grand father was arrested and placed behind bars at the Pleebo Police station."

Meanwhile, the little girl since the incident occurred, have been under the control of the Liberia National Police, Pleebo chapter.

She was rushed at the Pleebo Health Center, attended to, by medical professionals, and is now staying with one of the female police officers.

Dirt takes over at the Pleebo's roundabout every morning.

This morning was a surprise, glass-bottle pieces, dirt of all kinds along the corridors.

But what seems surprising is, "Team Anthony Williams had a massive cleanup campaign last Saturday, what could have led to this huge pile of dirt?"

"The people selling food here at night, da them can put the dirt down there. After selling, they can leave the dirt like that. The City Cooperation and the police needs to warn those who selling on this street at night." A Mobile Money business personnel told our News Director who visited the scene this morning.

"Why insult and threaten me because of students politics? Don't I have the right to contest as a female?" Wendell Johnson cries out at remarks against her by opponents

Wendell Johnson, standard bearer of the Tubman University Concerned Students Movement (TUCSM) have cried out her feelings, amid severe attacks from her male opponents.

Wendell Johnson who is the only female candidate in the pending Students Government Association elections at the William VS Tubman University said she have been receiving threats, insults, bullies and several attacks from her opponents (standard bearer of the Students Unification Alliance (SUA), and his supporters), since she declared her intention of contesting the TUSGA elections.

Recent one according to the female candidate, is a song released and sang by supporters of the Students Unification Alliance, titled "Town Kola."

In said music believed to be a campaign song, Wendell Johnson was described as a town Kola, eaten by every man, failures to keep stable relationships, and does not in anyway have the right to contest, since she is a female, alleging that only males are capable of holding top positions at the University.

For her part, Ferdinna Krah, a student of the William V.S. Tubman University expressed disappointment over the song, which she described as "Personal attack against the female candidate, and an insult to all females."

Even though she is one of the opponents to Wendell Johnson, Jacqueline Dweh said she never expected her fellow supporters to have gone that extend of releasing insults against a female, because of students politics.

Mrs. Dweh stressed that she is a proud supporter of the Students Unification Alliance and it's standard bearer Emmanuel Dennis, but in no way support the insults used against Wendell Johnson.

Meanwhile, the female candidate Wendell Johnson emphasized that with all the threats, insults, amongst other against her personality, she is encouraged and is hopeful of winning the presidency at the William VS Tubman University, as Students Government Association's President.

She called on her supporters to remain calmed and keep focused to what she termed as proper democracy.

Meanwhile, a released from the Students Unification Alliance (SUA) on March 22, 2024 confirmed that the song 'Town Kola' was produced by members of the party.

Even though name(s) of the music producer was withheld, the released continued by saying, "First and foremost, the Vanguard Student Unification Alliance categorically distances herself from the content and messaging of "Town Kola." Despite being produced by enthusiasts of our esteemed political leader, it is crucial to emphasize that this song does not align with the core values and principles of our party."

SUA according to the released have lunch an investigation to probe perpetrators who sang the song to book.

Pleebo Detachment of the Liberia National Police headed by Commander Col. J. Max Roberts on Saturday, March 30, 2024 took the initiative of rehabilitating the major road leading from the Pleebo central street, to the Police station.

This hill has been a rout of accidents alone the way in years back, being an impediment to bike riders, car drivers and other mobilities accessing the Pleebo Police station.

As it is now rehabilitated, Cyclists and drivers have the free will of accessing not only the Police station, but also the Pleebo Magistrial Court, the Pleebo Administration Compound, amongst other government facilities.

This is not the first of it's kind from the Police Commander and his work folks.

Back in 2023, Commander J. Max Roberts underscored a project of renovating parts of the Pleebo Police depot which were broken by angry protesters earlier 2021 during a riot which derived from the gruesome murder of a student and motorcyclist, Mordecious Nyemah.

Over the weekend in an interview with Journalists, the Police Commander Col. J. Max Roberts said the work was an initiative from his office and his police work folks.

Breaking News. ....

Suspended Maryland County Chiefs and Elders Council Chairman, Hon. Nelson Neal has finally been reinstated by Chief Zanzan Kawar.

Hon. Neal was removed by the then CDC-led government local officials headed by the County superintendent, Hon. George A. Prowd in consultation with the former speaker, Hon. Bhofal Chambers. His removal was predicated upon his alleged refusal to promote the reelection of former President George Manneh Weah and speaker Bhofal Chambers.

It can be recalled in the heat of the 2023 presidential and legislative elections campaign, the former superintendent ordered the arrest of chairman Neal to report the Council's vehicle donated by President Weah. The superintendent then moved to Sedeken, the administrative seat of Pleebo Sodoken District and verbally mandated the paramount chief, Hon. Christian Williams to assume the position of chairman of the traditional council to promote the CDC agenda.

Consequently, the position, which Chief Williams held from September 2023 till this month April 2024 was officially turned over as a result of a communication written by Chief Kawar, which is dated March 23, 2024, to the suspended chairman; thus mandating his reinstatement.

Meanwhile, the meeting to reinstate Hon. Neal was held today, April 3, 2024, at the district's administrative seat. The gathering brought together town Chiefs, clan Chiefs, paramount Chiefs, Commissioners and other local government officials across Maryland County.

The meeting, which lasted for at least six hours and coupled with claims and counterclaims among the Chiefs and Elders led to an expected end with both factions of Chiefs reconciling their differences and embracing the reinstatement of Hon. Nelson Neal as the original and legitimate Chairman of the traditional council.

Remarking on the occasion, the Acting County Superintendent, Hon. T. Tabie Thompson praised the Council for the level of maturity exhibited in the transitional meeting and calls for unity among the Chiefs for the promotion of cultural heritages in Maryland County.

For his part, Hon. Neal thanked the National Chiefs and Elders Council chairman, Hon. Zanzan Kawar for reposing confidence in him to be reconsidered as Chairman of the Chiefs Council in Maryland. He in furtherance appreciated his colleagues for their trust and promised to reunite the council, which had been divided as a result of mere political interests and regroupings.

CBL EXTENDS OLD MONEY EXCHANGE DEADLINE

The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) announces the extension of the March 31, 2024 deadline for the currency exchange exercise by six weeks, up to May 15, 2024.

CBL Board of Governors at its emergency meeting held on Friday, March 29, 2024 resolved to extend the deadline for the termination of the legal tender status of the old banknotes and to continue the exchange exercise through the commercial banks and Rural Community Finance Institutions (RCFIs).

Despite the progress, the March 31st deadline was impacted by several factors, including the challenging road condition to counties in the Southeast and Lofa County, the General and Presidential Elections, the intensity of run-off Presidential Election, and the transitional process. The Bank was cautious about moving cash across the country during these situations.

The extension means that the old money, known as Liberian Series 1 or LS1 and Liberian Series 2 or LS2 banknotes printed before 2021 still remains legal tender until May 15, 2024 and can be used to buy goods and pay for services in Liberia.

After the new deadline, the old banknotes will not be accepted for exchange at any commercial banks and Rural Community Finance Institutions (RCFIs). The exchange exercise will continue only at the CBL facilities across the country.

The CBL therefore urges the public to take advantage of this extension to exchange their old banknotes and calls on the business community to continue to accept the old banknotes and deposit them at the commercial banks and RCFIs in exchange for the new currency.

Finally, the Bank extends its appreciation to all stakeholders, and more importantly the Executive and the National Legislature for their support in this national endeavor. The Bank looks forward to the full cooperation of the public with this new deadline to ensure a successful completion of this exercise.
