The National Foot Soldiers-CDC

We Cannot Heal While Our People Bleed:

National Foot Soldiers-CDC Reject the July 5 โ€œHealingโ€ Ceremony and Call for Nationwide Resistance

The National Foot Soldiers-CDC reject in the strongest possible terms the upcoming National Healing, Reconciliation, and Unity Program scheduled for Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.

While national reconciliation is a noble concept, this government has turned it into a distraction from growing political persecution, economic hardship, and institutional breakdown.

Liberia Is in Crisis, Not Ceremony;
How can a government speak of healing and unity when:

1. The Executive repeatedly ignores Supreme Court rulings, destroying trust in our judicial independence?

2. People continue to die under suspicious circumstances, with no proper investigations or accountability?

3. Motorcyclists-who provide vital transportation and income-are banned from key roads, further strangling poor commuters?

4. Civil servants remain unpaid for the month of June, while inflation eats away at every meal and every market day?

5. Corrupt officials are suspended and later flee the country, without facing justice?

6. Market women suffer silently or openly, watching food prices double and triple without any government relief?

This is not national healing-it is national deception. The people are not at peace. The people are in pain.

On the Indictment of Hon. J. Fonati Koffa and Others:

We also take this moment to condemn the empty and politically motivated indictment against Hon. J. Fonati Koffa, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, and others.

We believe this action:

* Lacks any substantial legal basis;
* Is rooted in political vendetta, not justice;
* Aims to distract us from the governmentโ€™s mounting failures;
* Sets a dangerous precedent of using the law as a tool of intimidation.

Hon. Koffa served with integrity, and targeting him now is not only unjust-it is cowardly. If Liberia is truly on a path toward justice and reconciliation, then the law must be applied evenly and not as a weapon against opposition leaders.

We Will Not Sit Silently
The National Foot Soldiers-CDC will not allow history to be rewritten and the people misled. If this government proceeds with its tone-deaf July 5 ceremony, we will engage in peaceful and principled resistance.

We will not sit idly while our people are:

Starving, Silenced, Politically targeted, and denied the promise of a better future.

A Call to All Conscious Forces;

We hereby call on student-based organizations, especially the Student Unification Party (SUP) and PROSA, to stand with us in defense of our democracy, our economy, and our dignity.

The struggle for a just Liberia must be shared. The time to act is now.

Let it be known: we do not oppose healing; we oppose hypocrisy.

Our Position Remains Firm:

There can be no healing without justice. No unity while corruption is rewarded. No reconciliation while the poor suffer. No democracy while opposition voices are targeted.

Morris B. George

E-MANSION JUST RELEASED THAT
President Boakai to Host National Healing, Reconciliation, and Unity Program Honoring Victims of Civil War, Ebola, and COVID-19

July 2, 2025

Executive Mansion, Monrovia โ€“ In a continuation of his Administrationโ€™s commitment to national unity and historical justice, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia, will host a National Healing, Reconciliation, and Unity Program on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.

The program follows the dignified and historic reburial ceremonies of two of Liberiaโ€™s former leadersโ€”President William Richard Tolbert, Jr. and President Samuel Kanyon Doe, Sr. whose lives were lost during periods of national unrest. These ceremonies, being held in June and July respectively, mark a critical step in the Boakai Administrationโ€™s broader effort to foster national healing from the painful chapters of Liberiaโ€™s past.

Announcing the upcoming event, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, Minister of Education and Chairperson of the National Reburial and Reconciliation Committee, emphasized that this national gathering will honor not only the memories of Liberiaโ€™s former leaders but also the thousands of citizens who perished during the countryโ€™s brutal civil conflict, the deadly Ebola epidemic, and the devastating COVID-19 pandemic.

โ€œMany of our people still live with the scars of these tragediesโ€”some physical, many emotional, and others buried in unmarked graves,โ€ Dr. Jallah stated, noting โ€œThis program is intended to provide a space for collective reflection, mourning, and healing, and to renew our shared commitment to peace and reconciliation.โ€

The July 5th event will bring together members of the three branches of government, representatives of the diplomatic community, faith-based and traditional leaders, youth and women groups, international organizations, and civil society actors.

A distinguished keynote speaker, Dr. Antoine Rutayisire, will address the gathering, delivering a message centered on healing the wounds of the past, strengthening national unity, and charting a peaceful future for all Liberians.

Dr. Antoine Rutayisire is the current Rwandan Team Leader of African Enterprise, an organization that is committed to bringing healing, reconciliation, strength and renewal back to the disillusioned and devastated Rwandan church and nation.

President Boakai has repeatedly affirmed that reconciliation is a moral imperative and a necessary pillar for sustainable peace and inclusive development. The National Healing, Reconciliation, and Unity Program is a clear reflection of this vision.

The Government of Liberia is inviting the general public to attend and participate in this momentous national event as Liberian make a conscious effort to unite under one bannerโ€”Healing Our Past, Building Our Tomorrow, Together....

Simeon Freeman Criticizes Declining Use of Formal English in Liberia..

By: Mewaseh M. Dahn

Simeon Freeman, leader of the Movement for Progressive Change, has expressed deep concern over what he sees as a growing decline in the use of proper English in Liberia's media and public discourse.

Speaking at the first associate degree graduation ceremony of Faith University College, Freeman noted that many Liberians โ€” including newscasters โ€” increasingly rely on "Koloqua," even in formal environments. He described this trend as a reflection of deeper issues within the nationโ€™s education system.

Freeman emphasized the urgent need for reform in education to ensure students are equipped with the skills required for todayโ€™s job market. He pointed out that Liberia continues to depend on foreign professionals due to the lack of adequate preparation among local graduates.

He also addressed political accountability, urging voters to reject tribalism and favoritism. โ€œWhy do we entrust people who struggle to manage small sums with millions in public funds?โ€ he asked.

Freeman proposed a reduction in lawmakersโ€™ salaries and the introduction of four-year term limits for elected officials. He recommended that funds saved from these reforms be redirected to critical areas such as infrastructure, electricity, agriculture, and educationโ€”particularly in rural areas beyond Monrovia.

To the graduating students, Freeman delivered a powerful message: โ€œYour vote is your voice โ€” and with it, you can change Liberia.โ€

Tragedy Strikes at Neezo Junction: One Sibling Dead, Another Battling for Life ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ›‘

Monrovia, Liberia โ€“ June 27, 2025 โ€” Grief has gripped a family and a community following a heartbreaking accident that claimed the life of a beloved young man and left his sister critically injured in the early hours of Friday.

The tragic incident unfolded shortly after midnight during a relentless downpour at the Neezo Junction. Siblings traveling together in the stormy darkness crashed into an abandoned 40-foot container truck โ€” broken down and left dangerously on the roadside without any warning signs or reflectors.

The impact was fatal.

Sneh T.K. Pantoe, described by loved ones as vibrant, kind, and full of promise, died instantly on the scene. His sister, whose name has not yet been made public, was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, where she continues to fight for her life.

The sorrow of their grieving parent has echoed far and wide, their words heavy with unimaginable pain:
