Liberia is fully represented and actively participating in the thirty-second session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) General Assembly of Member States.

The Assembly is being held at the IMO headquarters in London, amidst the global coronavirus pandemic that has impacted the world.

Hon. Lenn Eugene Nagbe, Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) is heading the Liberian delegation.

The IMO Assembly is the highest governing body of the Organisation. All IMO Member States have the opportunity to review the Organisation’s major achievements of the last two (2) years and to formally adopt several key resolutions for the succeeding years.

Commissioner pledged Liberia’s unflinching support to the operations of the IMO ensuring safety at sea, safety and protection for seafarers and all ocean-going ships.

Official Launch Of Liberia's National Adaptation Plan &Adaptation Communication Documents. Organised By The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) &Partners.






A summary Of NAP: Liberia's National Adam Plan aims to help Liberia tackle the issue of Climate Change through a sound Adaptation programme that involves a whole-of-society approach to achieve the goals, vision and specific objectives. The NAP was developed through a consultative multi-stakeholder process and informed by sectoral Climate vulnerability and risk assessments, disaster risk assessment. The NAP focuses on six sectors that are priorities of the Government of Liberia in its efforts to adapt to the impacts of climate change: Agriculture, Coastal zones, Forestry, Energy, Waste management and Fisheries.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),in collaboration with the Press Union of Liberia (PUL), with funding from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) through the Global Environment Facility (GEF), holds a two-day training workshop for female Journalists across the Country from August 20-21, 2020 in the city of Ganta, Nimba County.

The workshop which is held on the theme: "Consolidating Liberia's Media Professionals With The Rio Conventions For Improved Reporting", is intended to strengthen and specified female Journalists into becoming environmental reporters.

Speaking at the opening of the training, the Acting Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Randall M. Dobayou, II. said that females are greatly affected by Climate Change and Climate related activities. He furthered, that it is prudent to train females who will write and report environmental stories in helping to minimize the harm involved.
