National Unification Day Celebration!

The Foundation for Better Liberia (FOBEL) is honored to observe National Unification Day in collaboration with the Friends Turned Allies (FRITA) institution. We celebrated the occasion with a spirited friendly soccer match, where FRITA was defeated 6–3. It was a day of unity, sportsmanship, and shared joy. Great time being together.

The doyen of intellectualism in Gardnerville, Mr. Amara M. Fofana, hosted a traditional baby naming ceremony today at his residence.

A former representative candidate in district twelve (ED #12) of Montserrado County, Amara M. Fofana, invited the leadership of the Foundation For Better Liberia.

Family members and community members gather to formally name the child during the ceremony. Elders frequently play a significant role in the various prayers and blessings that mark the occasion. They might offer prayers to bring the child luck and health.

Feasting, singing, and dancing are frequently incorporated into the ceremony, which reflects the happiness of the community and promotes unity. The celebration is not complete without traditional music and cultural expressions, which serve to transmit cultural values and fortify ties within the community.

All things considered, the Mandingo naming ceremony is an important custom that highlights cultural heritage, community involvement, and the role names play in determining a child's identity and destiny.

A team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed by Dax Elliott, Chairman of CEIO, paid a courtesy visit to our institution and donated a few teacups and notepads. The gesture is part of efforts to promote Liberia’s candidacy for a Non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council. It was a meaningful and engaging interaction. The leadership will ensure the equitable distribution of the donated materials.
