Just one small positive thought at the beginning of the week can change your whole month.

As Liberians proceed tomorrow to the polls to elect the new president, I urged all patriots and politicians to do away with provocation and violent acts. Tell someone. If you are the victim or are witness to violence, tell someone. It can be anyone you trust, such as a friend, parent, teacher, coach, brother, sisters, or a neighbor.

Be an individual. Think for yourself. Don’t follow the crowd and don’t give into peer pressure. Don’t participate in any forms of violence or abuse just because your friends are.

Take a stand. If you witness any form of violence or abuse, stand up, step in, or shout out that the offender is actually the uncool one, and the violence has to stop.

Lastly, take back the power. Offenders act violently or abusively to gain power. By not participating, you take the power away from the offender and pass it on to the victim.

The American government has again warned against the rigging of the upcoming elections and they have set a straight policy to guide the pending elections from any possibility of rigging.

Below is the full statement from the American government

“The United States is committed to supporting and advancing democracy in Liberia and around the world. Today, I am announcing a new visa restriction policy under Section 212(a)(3)C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act for those undermining democracy in Liberia. This policy will take effect in advance of the upcoming election.

Under this policy, the United States will pursue visa restrictions for those believed to be responsible for, or complicit in, undermining democracy in Liberia, including through manipulation or rigging of the electoral process; use of violence to prevent people from exercising their rights to freedom of association and peaceful assembly; use of measures designed to prevent political parties, voters, civil society, or the media from disseminating their views; or engagement in any other activity designed to improperly influence the outcome of an election. Certain family members of such persons may also be subject to these restrictions. Persons who undermine democracy in Liberia—including in the lead-up to, during, and following Liberia’s 2023 elections—may be found ineligible for U.S. visas under this policy.

The visa restriction policy announced today will apply to specific individuals and is not directed at the Liberian people or the Government of Liberia. The decision to impose visa restrictions reflects the commitment of the United States to support Liberians’ aspirations to have free and fair elections that demonstrate the will of the people and strengthen democracy and the rule of law”

For those who still in doubt about the case of Dr. Thomas Nimine Wleh's disqualification as a candidate in D #12.

The Supreme Court has officially communicated its decision to the National Elections Commission asking it to comply with its ruling against Candidate Thomas Nimene Tweh alias Country Man.

The decision communication as per the ruling handed down on August 31, to the NEC states that Candidate Tweh is not allowed to contest in the Montserrado County District #11
Nothing has changed so far as per the efforts being made by the camp.
