Sea Surging displayed over 80 Residents in Rebortsport City

By Jenkins Mabende /
Radio Piso Online TV

Residents in Kru Town Community in Robertsport City, Grand Cape Mount County have been affected by heavy sea erosion.

Over 80 residents have been affected including children who are presently homeless.

Speaking to NewsNet, one of the affected residents, Madam Ani Flomo said Thursday night was not comfortable for them as the water damaged their houses including all their properties.

She stressed her frustrations over how they have been treated by the community and county stakeholders as they know about the problem but no action has been taken to address the situation.

She called on the City Mayor, other county authorities, and humanitarian organizations to come to their aid to provide shelter for them

Speaking to the affected residents in Kru Town Community, the City Mayor, Hon. Edwin Kowa, encouraged them to calm down as he informed other county authorities about the situation.

He urged all those who have been affected to move to the city hall where the Red Cross will register them to know how many people have been affected, and that all those who have been affected should ensure that they register their names.

Hon. Edwin Kowa noted that his office will be working with the Red Cross to know how they will provide temporary shelters for the affected residents.

He disclosed that they will be looking for land where they will build houses to relocate all those who are living close to the sea.

He pointed out that this is a national issue and as peace-loving people, they should keep their peace.

Monrovia - The Monrovia Office of the West African Examinations Council ((WAEC) has recognized that its system responsible for result checking developed a slight system error and has ensured a swift corretion of said error.

We are pleased to inform you that efforts have been exerted and the system is now running properly, and that candidates can begin rechecking their results, as the error has been resolved.

WAEC wishes to therefore clarify that there is no such thing as Division I, II, and III on its examinations since the introduction of WASSCE in 2018, as candidates are eligible for certificates in any number of subjects they pass in.

The Management of the Council's Monrovia Office sincerely apologizes to its stakeholders, the candidates, and the public for the inconveniences experienced as a result of the system error and recommits her pledge to quality service delivery to beneficiaries of her services.
