We need to break the silence around menstruation and start talking about it openly and honestly. We need to educate ourselves and others about the menstrual cycle and its normality. We need to challenge the myths and taboos that surround menstruation. By doing so, we can create a world where menstruation is seen for what it is: a natural and healthy part of life.

Happy world menstrual.

Isn't all about saying β€œI pledge allegiance to the flag of Liberia and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Growing up in a household dominated by West African cultural influences, my personal connection and emotional attachment to Liberia run deep. As I highlight, the cultural norms and traditions of West African descent, particularly in the context of intimate partner violence, play a significant role in shaping personal relationships.

This connection to cultural roots transcends borders, as first-generation American women of West African descent strive to preserve their heritage and customs, even in a diasporic setting. Moreover, the normalization of intimate partner violence in certain West African countries underscores the complexities and challenges faced by individuals navigating traditional practices in a modern world. Understanding these dynamics is crucial in exploring the nuances of my own affection for Liberiaβ€”a love that goes beyond mere geographical ties and holds intrinsic value, as I emphasizes the influence of culture on interpersonal relationships and future aspirations

Reflecting on the profound impact Liberia has had on my personal and academic journey, it is clear that my love for this country transcends any material wealth. Through my research and interactions with the people of Liberia, I have gained a deeper understanding of their rich history, culture, and resilience in the face of adversity.

The connections I have built with local communities and scholars like Momodu Gray , Sunnie Antonio Marcar Jr. , Richard Allen , Fatu QueenFifi Kaba , Simeon Jomah , Luisene A K Scott, Mohammed Wisdom Barry, Lahai Emmerson Kanneh have shaped my perspective on global issues and sparked a passion for social justice and sustainable development. As I conclude this exploration of Liberia, I am reminded that the relationships and experiences I have gained are invaluable and irreplaceable.

My love for Liberia is rooted in a commitment to equity, justice, and collaboration, and will continue to guide my efforts to contribute meaningfully to the progress and prosperity of this beautiful nation.

I love you so much Mama Liberia. πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·
