John Hilary Tubman Administration Threatened to Sent Students Home for Tuition

For failure to meet up with tuition payment, the Administration of John Hilary Tubman High school has viewed to sent students home during her fourth marking period test

The Registry Department of the school told Tony's TV Liberia that they will make sure to throw students out of the test hall for their alleged refusal to pay tuition

Mr. Alex Dossen told this platform that there are students who are yet to made part payment of their school fees with others yet to pay a cent.

He said, those in both categories will be denied from taking the four marking period test schedule for next week

"To avoid such embarrassments, students need to meet up with their financial requirements before this period tests begin or risk going home" Dossen cautioned

The four marking period test is expected to commence the 17 March 2023 and will last for a week

Meanwhile, students of the school who spoke to Tony's TV Liberia, but refused to be named are appealing to the school administration to give them time while they find the money and do payment

They blamed their delay on the country's bad economy despite government charge of $1,000LD for Elementary,$2,000 for junior and $3,000 for senior high

In another development, the Vice Principal for Instruction of the school Mr. Jacob Davis has disclosed some major administrative decisions to be taken on the current 12th Graders in the soonest possible time

He indicated that the 12th graders who are considered seniors are not taking up their responsibilities as expected

The John Hilary Tubman High school VPI asserted that the administrative decision is due to the 12th Graders constant hobbit of boycotting classes, dressing recklessly amongst other something he said they have deliberately refused to desist from as such a tuff measure needs to be taken to end.

1---Amid increasing concerns over the failure of some fathers to support their children, former Representative Rufus Neufville writtes the 54th legislature to criminalize ‘persistent nonsupport’ in the country

Addressing a news conference Tuesday in Monrovia, Ambassador Neufville, who is also the Executive Director of the People Action Network stressed that the abandonment of children is causing untold hardship on struggling mothers nationally.

The former lawmaker wants the national legislature to review the Domestic Relations Law, adding that the current provision in that law that speaks about fathers’ obligation to support their children is weak.

He noted that some irresponsible fathers feel that it is optional to support their own children, many girls are forced to leave schools and forsake their dreams only to pay attention to their children as single mothers.

Ambassador Neufville also believes that a new law to criminalize persistent nonsupport will deter men who are gainfully employed with either national government or private sector from abandoning their children.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Rufus Neufville has attributed the increasing wave of disadvantaged youths across the country to the act of ‘persistent nonsupport’ by their fathers.

While many analysts hold the view that the abandonment of children is a contributing factor, Ambassador Neufville noted that single parents could no longer bear the responsibilities of their kids abandoned by their fathers.

*The NEC has released the 2023 Elections Schedule which includes the following KEY dates for voters*:

1. 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: October 7, 2022
-This is so people get information on the voter registration process.

2. 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: October 23, 2022 to January 26, 2023
-This is so voters know in advance the locations of where to register within their districts. Where you register will be the same place you have to go back to vote.

4. 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 & 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀: December 15, 2022 to March 24, 2023
-This is a change to register any complaint to NEC about the registration process.

-This is so voters have the chance to make sure their name is listed on the voters registration roll. The Roll will be posted at all voter registration centers during this period. President George Manneh Weah Thursday, March 3, 2022 hosted his administration’s first Cabinet Meeting at the Parlors of the Executive Mansion.

The President moved his office from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs February 14, 2022 to the Executive Mansion, the official seat and home of the Liberian Presidency, which was gutted by fire in 2006.

The Cabinet Meeting presided over by President Weah had one agenda item–European Union’s new development model for Liberia and how the Cabinet could derive strategies to align with that model, particularly on the implementation of the next tranche of development, EU Aid to Liberia.

President Weah convened the meeting to allow his Cabinet to have a full appreciation of the EU aid package and to brainstorm on how the government could make maximum use of the EU’s development roadmap for Liberia.

He laid the basis of the discussions in a way that it resonated with line ministries working directly with the EU and the entire Cabinet.

The Cabinet, following spirited discussions of the matter, agreed to constitute a special cabinet think tank that will engage with the EU on its proposal for Liberia.

The first Cabinet Meeting at the Executive Mansion provided cabinet ministers opportunities to share their views on other issues of national importance.

lady identified as Betty Menyon who was recently victimized by a tension wire belonging to the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) is crying out for assistance from the Government of Liberia after alleging that she was abandoned by the management of LEC since the unfortunate situation occurred over a month ago which has subjected her to pain and suffering.

She specifically wants the management of LEC to pay her accumulated medical bills and provide other care for her and children. She said though the LEC through its ELWA sub-station supervisor only identified as Mr. Lawrence promised that the management to pay the bill has failed.

Ms Menyon got badly burned by the tension wire on November 27, 2021 when she went on her usual search for survival at the Boulevard rock crushing ground to look for her family daily bread as a single parent of five teenage children and since then had been hospitalized at the ELWA hospital without the LEC management showing concern.

The situation seemed to be getting worse by the day and the doctor of the ELWA hospital in Paynesville had announced that Madam Menyon will have to go through some major surgical operation to help her to be physically normal as she was.
