A Nollywood actor, Pope Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope, is dead.

The news of his death was shared on Wednesday, April 10, by filmmaker, Samuel Olatunji.

He mentioned that the actor, along with three others, lost their lives when their boat capsized.

Police in Nimba County have finally arrested a 55 year old Daniel Tokpah, who chopped off the hands of Jessica Davis, the lady who passed through his compound early Sunday morning.

Suspect Tokpah is currently forwarded to court in Sanniquellie, awaiting trial.

The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) announces the extension of the March 31, 2024 deadline for the currency exchange exercise by six weeks, up to May 15, 2024.

The extension means that the old money, known as Liberian Series 1 or LS1 and Liberian Series 2 or LS2 banknotes printed before 2021 still remains legal tender until May 15, 2024, and can be used to buy goods and pay for services in Liberia.

Woman age 52 believed to be suffering from Hepatitis B. Is appealing to the General public for assistance to seek advanced medications.

Madame Massa Moses a resident of Nyhen Clan in Todee Statutory district is experiencing sallowing stomach and difficulty in breathing.

According to Madam Moses, she started to observe such terrible conditions about seven months ago when she was taken to a local clinic in Kakata (Barcolleh) for a medical check, and she now finding it very difficult to breathe as well as use the bathroom.

She narrated that the Doctor told her she was suffering from kidney hydronephrosis with Asatis / hepatitis B diseases and needed advanced treatment.

She is a mother of three children and desperately in need of help from any philanthropists, or meaningful citizens in saving her life.

CAF select four Liberian referees for 2025 Afcon qualifier

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have selected four FIFA-badged Liberian referees to officiate a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier between Mauritius and Chad.

They are Hassan Corneh (referee), Joel Doe (assistant referee #1), Ephriam Grant (assistant referee #2) and Emmanuel Mensah (fourth official).

The match will be played in Ivory Coast on 26 March at 19:00GMT because Mauritius don’t have a stadium approved by CAF and FIFA for international matches.

…Senator McGill declarers Assets…

Margibi County Senator Nathaniel Farlo McGill has declared his assets and Liabilities to the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission.

Speaking with reporters following his declaration, Senator McGill said he took the decision based on the law.

He further stated that as a Sanctioned Government official, he sees it as prudent to declare his assets so the authorities can be aware of what he has.

When asked as to whether he intends to publish his asset Declaration form, the Margibi Lawmaker said it is not required by law.

The situation involves grievances over mistreatment by Bea Mountain, leading to protests. One civilian is reportedly killed by gunfire from ERU and PSU officers.

🚨 Breaking News: Nigerian record label Mavin Records has officially been sold to American record label Universal Music Group!

As announced by Mavin's boss, Don Jazzy, via Instagram, UMG has partnered and is working to acquire a majority stake in the Nigerian music company Mavin Global.

Close to 80% of the shares of the record label will be bought by UMG in a deal pending regulatory approval. This deal will be completed in the 3rd quarter of this year, and Mavin Records will officially be an American record label operating in Nigeria, with hopes to expand to other African countries.

We don't know what this means for the Nigerian music industry, but we want to congratulate Don Jazzy on his newly acquired life-changing fortune. 👏🏼🎊
