Jacksonville Township Commissioner wants Liberia National Police prevents smoking of drugs, as criminal rate increases in Jacksonville.
The Commissioner of Jacksonville Township in Harper Hon. Jonathan S. Harmon has called on the Liberia National Police to tour the township and rid alleged drugs dealers to prevent criminals assembling in the township.
Jacksonville Township is one of the oldest townships in Harper and contains seven (7)Communities; J. Larma Cox, New Harper, Bishop Hill, Essay Town, Airfield Community, Bonger Hill and William R. Tolbert Drive respectively commonly known as Stadium road.
The request of Commissioner Harmon came as a result of several complaints being raised by residents of the township, several residents alleged that criminals are using cassava patch, old or unfinished buildings as their bases for smoking and carried on harassment during the afternoon and late evenings hours, taking away peoples' phones, handbags, amongst others.
Speaking during a citizen meeting recently in Bonger Hill Community Hon. Harmon suggested to the Maryland County Police Commander Jacob Kumah the need to establish substation in Jacksonville Township so as to help reduce the situation.
For his part, Police Commander Jacob Kumah welcomed the suggestion and promised to provide maximum to curtail the criminals' rate in Jacksonville Township and across Maryland County.
