As the semester gets close to an end, the challenges, filled with ups and downs draw to a close!

We, UMU Gbarnga students, since Monday have gathered to write our final exams. Despite all we've been through, as we filled the school environment to do our respective exams, memories of late-night study sessions and shared experiences linked us closer. That's while we are United Methodist University Students!

During the course of the semester, we supported each other through the last hurdle, embodying resilience and unity. Yes, we did!!

Socially, we crushed each other and yes, some were well leveled, some of us didn't succeed tho🤔 but we're altogether😊

With determination and hope in our hearts, we are embracing the moment, ready to conquer the exams together in one accord, though we are aware that our individual results will reflect our attributes towards the engagement we had with our lessons. Our bond remains tight! 💪

We aren't spying on this exam but sharing encouraging words and gestures of solidarity remain our code of exchanges among colleagues who have navigated the challenges of the semester together.

During the course, we shared study tips, while other colleagues cracked jokes to lightened the mood before reaching this far, therefore, no one is leaving behind!

As the clock ticked closer to the end of the exams as well the semester, a sense of togetherness enveloped among us on campus. This is a strong feeling to remind us that in a short while to come, we'll be getting to our respective homes for a semester break.

Our journey through the semester has been unique!

God has been the one controlling the steering all along the way, Hallelujah to His Name!

Kudos to our Lecturers, Faculties and supporting Staff.

We will be leaving campus to hustle for UMU money and be back for next semester 😁🙏 🙌

All the best!!

Rev. Princess K. Jallah who headed the delegation on Thursday, December 5, supervised both faculties, students, and lecturers of the College of Agriculture at the National Agriculture Fair (NAF-2024) to the Booker Washington Institute, Kakata -Margibi County.

The University's presence at NAF-2024, according to Rev. Jallah, was meant to showcase the College's potential in contributing to food security and support the government's ARREST Agenda with emphasis on the agricultural sector.

She further stated the importance and opened space provided by the National Event (NAF) for UMU College of Agriculture's students to publicly demonstrate their practical skills and market some of the products produced by them since the beginning of the semester.

Dean Jallah asserted, that since the UMU Gbarnga Campus establishment, the college has been involved with field practicals both on and outside of the campus, an act she described as an "applied knowledge," that will capacitate and market any graduate from the University.

Before their departure, the students harvested vegetables including Cabbage, Cucumber, constructed Honey Abstractor, produced. a Ventilated ponded ginger powder, including gallons of virgin coconut oil, and other products to be displayed during the exhibition segment of the Fair.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Alexander J. Nutah has promised UMU Gbarnga College of Agriculture a Power Tiller Machine to enhance the student's work at their practical sites.

Minister Nutah said he was impressed by the level of practical skill the College of Agriculture UMU Gbarnga Team displayed during the Fair and encouraged the students to remain studious in their studies for future advancement in the agriculture sector of Liberia.

The promise came as a result of an excellent exhibition of products and skills by the UMU Gbarnga Team.

The 2024 National Agriculture Fair hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture collaborated with its partners to welcome all Liberians to the National Event, where Farmers, Expertise, Agribusiness, Students, including foreign dignitaries and government officials gathered to showcase innovation and best agricultural practices through a live exhibition and demonstration; giving an insight to modern farming and innovative techniques that will make the sector vibrant, reliance and self-sustaining.

The three day event lasted from December 5-7, 2024.

The United Methodist University UMU Aquaculture Class has embraced Aqua-Networking experience sharing beginning with a field trip for practical at several sites.

By: Emmanuel Tehteh

The Agri 212 Class during the weekend took a field trip for hands-on-experience knowledge in Totota, Lower B**g County on the EcoFish Solution Fish Farm.

The trip included site seeing, construction of Plastic PVC and Concrete tank Ponds with detailed explanation and demonstration.

The UMU-Aquaculture students many of whom are Upper Sophomore students skillfully demonstrated the sorting of fingerling African Catfish from the plastic PVC Tank pond to the newly constructed Concrete Tank Pond, an aquaculture practice many described as "first experience ever".

Mr. Emmanuel K. Weah II, the Course Lecturer, speaking to our microphone on the trip said agriculture in general is "Hand on Knowledge," something that prompted him to establish a partnership between UMU-Aquaculture and the Management of EcoFish Solution Fish Farm.

" I was happy seeing my students practically using their theoretical knowledge sorting out the catfish" Mr Weah explained.

He further narrates that Fish is a protein-rich commodity which he sees prudent to encourage and provide the required skills and knowledge to deserving students.

Mr. Ezekiel Kennedy is the founder and CEO of EcoFish Solution Fish Farm, an experienced Field Extension Officer in Aquaculture. In a brief interview, He expressed how glad he felt receiving the UMU-Aquaculture students for site demonstration over the weekend. He promised to work with the students through the Weah-Kenndey partnership.

Mr Kennedy has previously Guest-Lectured the class prior to the field trip on his farm.

On the global scale, West Africa has been graded 1% in aquaculture production, this suggests that Liberia is a virgin in the sector giving more space to agriculturists to place more emphasis in the production to catch with future prospects and opportunities.

Clarence Koker and Marian Zigbou two of the students who spoke on behalf of their colleagues lauded Mr. Weah and Kennedy for the shared-knowledge, describing it as an "eye opener" for emerging agriculturists.

They used the medium to call on the students community in B**g and adjacent counties interested in majoring Agriculture at university level to take of UMU Gbarnga Campus a home of knowledge.
