The United Methodist University (UMU) Gbarnga Campus Dean Led a team of delegates at the 2024 National Agriculture Fair to Kakata, Margibi County.

Rev. Princess K. Jallah who headed the delegation on Thursday, December 5, supervised both faculties, students, and lecturers of the College of Agriculture at the National Agriculture Fair (NAF-2024) to the Booker Washington Institute, Kakata -Margibi County.
The University's presence at NAF-2024, according to Rev. Jallah, was meant to showcase the College's potential in contributing to food security and support the government's ARREST Agenda with emphasis on the agricultural sector.
She further stated the importance and opened space provided by the National Event (NAF) for UMU College of Agriculture's students to publicly demonstrate their practical skills and market some of the products produced by them since the beginning of the semester.
Dean Jallah asserted, that since the UMU Gbarnga Campus establishment, the college has been involved with field practicals both on and outside of the campus, an act she described as an "applied knowledge," that will capacitate and market any graduate from the University.
Before their departure, the students harvested vegetables including Cabbage, Cucumber, constructed Honey Abstractor, produced. a Ventilated ponded ginger powder, including gallons of virgin coconut oil, and other products to be displayed during the exhibition segment of the Fair.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Alexander J. Nutah has promised UMU Gbarnga College of Agriculture a Power Tiller Machine to enhance the student's work at their practical sites.
Minister Nutah said he was impressed by the level of practical skill the College of Agriculture UMU Gbarnga Team displayed during the Fair and encouraged the students to remain studious in their studies for future advancement in the agriculture sector of Liberia.
The promise came as a result of an excellent exhibition of products and skills by the UMU Gbarnga Team.
The 2024 National Agriculture Fair hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture collaborated with its partners to welcome all Liberians to the National Event, where Farmers, Expertise, Agribusiness, Students, including foreign dignitaries and government officials gathered to showcase innovation and best agricultural practices through a live exhibition and demonstration; giving an insight to modern farming and innovative techniques that will make the sector vibrant, reliance and self-sustaining.
The three day event lasted from December 5-7, 2024.
