More than hundred people in kpolokpah town, electoral district two in B**g County are now homeless after a disastrous wind unroofed more than twenty houses in the town.

According to the spokesperson of the town Mr. Simone Mulbah, the dreadful event occurred during the night hours while some residents were already at sleep.
He noted that the unpleasant incident has hugely affected the town thus causing several families to sleep under open kitchens around the town.
Speaking on behalf of the victims in his capacity as spoke person of the town, Mr.Mulbah called on humanitarians, non-governmental organizations and the government of Liberia to aid them in roofing their damage houses as soon as possible. He named materials like zinc, nails and cement as urgent materials needed to help the victims get their homes back.

He remarked that due to the happening, some students are now out of school because their uniforms were also damage during the incident. Mulbah injected that the only church in the town was also hugely damaged by the storm.

For their parts, some victims call on the senators, representatives and the superintendents of the county to assist them because they are unable to reroof their houses due to the economic hardship they are currently confronted with.
Mr. John S Kollie who is a family head for more than 14 persons said, the incident has caused serious setback for him mentioning that he is not fully capacitated to cater to all his kids since he lost his home to the storms.

Others victim including Jerry N. Sato and Madam Gbanko Mulbah said, since the incident, their kids are unable to go to school. Something they remarked is causing serious embarrassment for them as parents.
They however called on the government of Liberia and other goodwill individuals to aid them in getting their shelter back.

It has been observed that this isn’t the first of its kind in electoral district number two; it can be recalled that several individuals lost their home in Foloblah in late February 2021.

Currently Jorquelleh District 2 is not represented at the house of representatives, since the ascendancy of their representative now Senator of B**g County Hon. Prince K Moye.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Jewel M Cole educational foundation has cautioned parent in B**g County to prioritize their children’s education in order to have a better Liberia.

Speaking during the weekend at the "Jewel M Cole Educational Foundation" first distribution of copies book and cash to more than five-hundred beneficiaries Ms. Jewel Cole daughter of Hon J.Marvin Cole representative electoral district #3 B**g County said, it is time for parents to stop prioritizing bags of rice over their children’s future.

The young philanthropist who disturbed cash and copies books worth half a million Liberian dollars to over five hundred children said, she sees a better Liberia; but that can only be attainable when kids in Liberia are educated.

She added that the young people of Liberia future are not limited to riding motorbikes, picking pockets or selling in the streets; remarking that they can achieve better if they are sent to school.


Speaking on the issue of r**e Ms. Cole said "r**e is a cancerous disease that everyone needs to stand up and fight against".
She however called on parent , school administrators, church leaders , law enforcements agencies , and the government of Liberia to join forces in combating r**e in Liberia .

She believes when the country is free from r**e, girls will have the opportunity to learn in a safe and peaceful environment.
She pleaded that parents and leaders should stop negotiating and compromising r**e cases in their homes or communities.

Ms. Cole then used the medium to encourage students to avoid the many distraction from social media and stop engaging themselves into too many social activities and focus on their education.

she concluded by promising parents that she will continue to speak to her donors just to make sure the children of B**g should stay in school.
