‘ WE'RE TIRED SUFFERING DRIVER' SIMION DAVIS ALLEGEDLY RUNS AWAY WITH $70K USD

MONROVIA – The Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) has confirmed to FrontPageAfrica that its secretary general, Martin Kollah’s driver has allegedly absconded with US$70,000 intended to fund the Dec. 17 ‘We’re Tired Suffering’ Rally.

The driver has been identified as Simon Davies.

“We had just started paying people and because of the huge crowd, I left my driver in the office and tried to divert the crowd downstairs so that I could have space to pay people who were hired to render services. It took me less than five minutes to get back, the guy, my driver was missing and he left the keys in the car with the doors opened,” Kollah said.

He explained that the money was being used to purchase water, print additional T-Shirts and pay for transporting of people to the rally that is expected to take place at the SKD Sports Stadium.

Simon, according to him, has worked with him for two years.

Simon Davis lived in Grand Bassa for several years before transferring to Monrovia in search of Job .

However , Ablee-Jay TV tried contacting Simeon Davis but it yeilded no result.

MEET THE BRILLIANT KID FROM NIGERIA THAT SCORED 9As IN THE 2021 WASSCE.

A student of Kings College in Lagos State has been hailed over the feat he recently achieved in the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

Akinyemi Oluwafemi emerged one of the best students in the just concluded West African Senior School Certificate Examination in Nigeria after getting parallel As in his result.

Recall that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) had on November 22nd, released the results for this year.

Mr Patrick Areghan, Head of the Nigeria National Office of the Council, had in a statement, said the percentage of candidates who obtained credit and above in a minimum of five (5) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, was 65.24%.

Areghan explained that out of the 1,560,261 million candidates that sat the examination, 1,398,370 million candidates, representing 89.62%, obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five subjects (i.e with or without English Language and/ or Mathematics.

However, Akinyemi Oluwafemi, according to his school had nine distinctions in the examination.

He wrote the following subjects: Data processing, Economics, Mathematics, English language, Civil Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer studies

Alpha Conde Release!

"Guinea's junta government has released former president Alpha Conde from prison and placed him under house custody. DW's correspondent in Guinea has confirmed that the deposed leader was released last night. Mr. Conde's release comes three months after the military overthrew him.

"Are there any lessons to be learnt from the rise and fall of Alpha Conde?" the post read.

On 5 September 2021, Condé was captured by the country's armed forces in a coup d'état after gunfire in the capital, Conakry.

Special forces commander Mamady Doumbouya released a broadcast on state television announcing the dissolution of the constitution and government.

The junta leader, a 41-year-old colonel and former ally of the deposed Condé, was later sworn in at a ceremony held at the Mohamed V Palace in the capital, Conakry, an event boycotted by most West African heads of state.

The coalition of the regional leaders under the auspices of ECOWAS, imposed sanctions on the junta members and their relatives, froze their assets and imposed travel bans on them.

But this has not deterred the putschists’ resolve to take their pound of flesh by ousting Condé – whom they accused of corruption, disregarding human rights and economic mismanagement – barely a year into his controversial third term reelection.

Regional powers would now hope that the new interim government propped by the country’s military will be for a short while and transition to civilian rule will return quickly.

According to DW, the deposed leader was released last night.

Conde's release comes three months after the military overthrew him.

The political upheaval in the bauxite-rich West African country has raised concerns over the rising cases of coups in West and Central Africa regions.

One of Grand Bassa law makers ( Hon. Vincent T. Willie) has paved the way for students and constituents of his district to forward their education in foreign land.

Guinea’s President of the transition Colonel Mamady Doumbouya is on the right track by selecting competent individuals to head the various ministerial posts. He must be commended for reducing the number of ministers from 36 under the previous government of Alpha Conde to 25. It is also a very good move to form the government on a gender-balanced which is to ensure women participate in nation-building.

The new Transitional Government in Guinea is made up of 25 ministries and two general secretariats.

‘COUNTY AUTHORITIES MUST SPEAK TO DELAY IN PROVISION OF ELECTRICITY TO BUCHANAN/BASSA AMIDST COMPANY READINESS’ BEALDED SPEAKS OUT!

Togar Alexander Bealded has called for the leadership of Grand Bassa County to explain clearly to the public why the West African Power Pool (WAPP) project which is a stone throw away from Buchanan City is yet to reach residents of the county for months.

WAPP announced in a Facebook post ‘The Buchanan substation in the port city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County is fully energized and ready. We are connecting light to lives.’

Amidst this announcement that the project is energized and ready, it remains months now and progress to getting electricity reach the people of Buchanan yea Grand Bassa is still scanty.

Bealded said there is need for Legislators, County Administrative leadership and others in the public spheres to give clearly defined information suitable to allay fears that there is a scramble over influential individuals fighting over bids.

‘No individual should drive their personal benefit over the overall benefits of the people especially the Bassa people’ he said in a release.

He continued’ The Bassa people have for too long yearned for electricity and for it to be in their noses at the moment and no information as to when they will get the current is completely regrettable and worrisome.’

At the same time Togar Alexander Bealded has requested the intervention of international partners to oversee the electrification program of Bassa to create transparency and accountability if the county cannot subsidize the running of the program given resources available from CSDF and other interventions that could bring the county dividend.

He said electrification will enhance economic growth and reduction of basic social services as well as create job opportunities for many so there is no time than now for taking actions that will accelerate the project.

Bealded congratulated the government of Liberia and their West African partners who in 1982, Heads of States of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) agreed to put in place a regional energy policy in order to promote a regional energy market and to optimize resources in West Africa.

Subsequently, in 1999 the West African Power Pool (WAPP) was created and its Master Plan was put in place in 2000 with a view to provide electrical energy at competitive and affordable prices in the West Africa region to ensure e social and economic development.

Within its Master Plan, WAPP planned to accelerate several regional interconnection line projects including a transmission line to interconnect the States of Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinée (CLSG).

The CLSG Project is a multinational investment operation and is financed by 4 donors namely, the World Bank, the European Investment Bank (EIB), the KfW and the African Development Bank (AfDB). The four beneficiary countries have provided counterpart contributions for the payments of Resettlement Action Plans (RAP) and Interest accrued during construction (IDC).

In 2012, therefore, a Treaty was signed by the Heads of State of the CLSG countries to establish a Special Purpose Company called ‘TRANSCO CLSG’ which stands for Transmission Company Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinée.

The objective of the supranational company is to implement the project, specifically to finance, construct, operate, maintain, own and develop the Interconnection Line among the Member States.

Following the signature of the International Treaty governing the CLSG Project, the General Secretariat of WAPP in compliance with its prerogatives as Secretariat of the Treaty initiated the process of establishing the governance bodies of the project as outlined in the Treaty.

The Mali Transitional government led by its military President, Colonel Goita Assimi gives ECOWAS envoys 72hours to leave the country.

Since Col. Assimi Goita took power in a coup, the ECOWAS body has been monitoring events in Mali and has been mounting pressure on the government to speed up progress in normalising political state of the nation.

Events took a twist recently as the 15 member ECOWAS team was asked to leave the country with immediate effect, giving them 72 hours.
