AWN Radio sticks to its purpose for the community and aims to deliver its mission. With the ever evolving Rock super-genre, we strive to deliver the latest in music, be it mainstream or underground, while continuing to pay our respects to the bands of the past, who, even after decades, are clear legends amongst every rock and metal fan alive. That being said, our top most priority is to promote ALL bands that hail from Sri Lanka. The radio station houses state-of-the-art equipment to facilitate flawless media streaming to our listeners. Firstly, to bring a different class of music to the public, and secondly, to promote Sri Lankan artists/bands in their respective genres of Rock, Jazz, Blues, Fusion, and Reggae, both locally as well as internationally, by offering them maximum media exposure. WHY CHOOSE THESE GENRES? The primary reason is due to the limited media attention shown over the years; unfortunately, for reasons yet unknown, these genres have become, to popular belief, a taboo of sorts in Sri Lanka. It’s time for a change in mind-set and a time to explore other unique music genres. Music is born out of creativity, and we would like to expand the reach of this super-genre to this musically evolved, niche market. It’s time we moved forward with the rest of the world.
