One of my favourite stories from my childhood! I am a huge believer in bringing up multilingual kids and Kal has always been exposed to both Sinhala and English at home. His books reflect this and he he is learned his Sinhala letters along with his English letters from day one.

His favourite zoom activity is to get his achchi to read Sinhala stories to him whenever there is a lockdown!

When MJF Charitable Foundation] asked me if I would like to do a Sinhala book reading for a change I jumped at the chance to share my love for this classic Russian tale by Valentin Katayev that three generations in my family have enjoyed!
