In remote rural areas of Lao PDR every second child under five years is still chronically undernourished. The so called stunting has severe, life long consequences for the physical and psychological development of the affected children. If malnutrition occurs throughout the first two years of a child’s life, the deficit can never be regained.
Therefore it is especially important to raise parents’ awarness to the major importance of their children’s nutriton. The video trys to elucidate how undernourishment can be prevented and what has to be taken into account in order to give a child the best possible start in life.
